EGR removed. Pretty straightforward job. Thank goodness for a flexidrive in the socket set. The hardest part of the job was trying to find the little rubber vacuum line blanking plugs after I'd gone and dropped them. Doh!

Re-covered part of the injector harness with flexible conduit 'cos the stuff that was on it had started to break down and get brittle.
Tidied up some additional wiring at the back end of the engine bay while I had the acoustic cover off and I could reach.
All-in-all a reasonable couple of hours.

So, at the moment I'm up-to-date with the jobs I had planned since I bought the Disco at the end of January; driving lights (with a home made controller), heated washer jets, "Heatshot" hot water winscreen washer, mp3 player connection, fire extinguisher fitted, "night breaker" bulbs in all front lights and LED convertion in the rear and internal lighting (except the indicators).

Left to do; remap the ECU and steam clean and Waxoyl the underneath.

Well something very weird happened yesterday ....
The Bakewell trip was a sort of "make or break " for my landy greenlaning passion as it was a first for Mr Muds ...i was fully prepared for him to say "right that's it she's trashed enough - no more ", but last night during the Barca - Bayern game he suddenly said " oh i had a look at some winch bumpers on-line today"......... phew:suspicious::faint2: So as long as i'm a good girlie , i may be able to get one ....whoop!:)

i thought if you were a bad girlie you got stuff like that.:confused::p;)

Checked fluid levels and tyre pressures, greased the prop joints and slides. Checked the wheel bearings for lift and found the front off side needed nipping up.

Got a 100 mile motorway journey tomorrow so things need to be right.

Adjusted rear brakes and bled new front callipers, boy does it stop now:eek:

Checked diff oils and filled swivels with grease

Changed engine oil:cool:

Changing engine oil is definitely on the list... Although it does do it itself, gradually...
More welding, dumb irons, and bulkhead footwell..
Luckily, my tyres arrived, to give me a break, and also luckily, I live opposite a friendly tyre fitter... Two virtually new BFG trac edge's... :) on the back...
My wiper blade flew off the other day, so will have to get newun.. Sunny days, are tops for working, gravel drive, isn't tho...

Fought with the front bumper on my series 2, it had an MOD double bumper thingy, and it must weigh a ton! It was clanking about, on loose bolts, but, trying to get it off without damaging the bumper, or the dumbirons took most of the day... The nuts had been welded on, and i couldn't get to the bolt heads, and very hard to get grinder in... Used a cold chisel, for some of it..A lot of sweat later, it was free... So more or less, I halved its weight, by making it a single bumper..
Got new bolts, and fixed, and painted dumb irons.. Now it don't move, and it's easy to take off.. Thought I'd put number plate in middle of grill, it looks pretty good there.. Bumper had ghost letters showing its military upbringing.. Long gone, now... (It probably just drove up and down Salisbury plain most of its life, but I like to think of it as an old colonel, having served its time)

8 new brake pistons and seals in the front calipers.

Fitted black chequer plate sills and trim on rear quarter panel.

Blacked the wheel archs.

Looking good and stopping well.
