well having done lots of small jobs on mine the lock stop adjusters are totally fooked so as a temp mesure i have some spacers on so no tyres hitting the drop arms at the moment on the downside i have a shagged wheel bearing, knackerd UJ,S on the front newish looking prop, and now holes in the front out rigger, the joys of landy ownership,i cant weld so my local place wants 20 to plate the out rigger,30-40 quid for the uj,s(was going to do them myself but for not much cash is it worth it?and about 40 quid for the bearing with me supplying parts

Emptied it.

Completely ..

Now, over the next fortnight, I plan to take apart the rear end and sort out the nearside wheel well, 'cos the dickie seat brackets are only holding (now) on the plastic trim, and not on anything resembling sound metal!

It'll also mean I can remove wheels, shocks springs etc get them cleaned up and maybe painted and refit with relocation cones and 'stuff' .. thanks go to Redhand for being such a gent, I will remember .. ;)

Thought i would get the trusty multimeter out and get to the bottom of why my ARB air compressor packed up.
Turned out the red/yellow wire from the isolation switch was snapped off at the join with the ignition wire. Soldering iron to the rescue!

Working perfectly, bring on the mud.

egr blanking kit arrived in post..........hopefully fit it over weekend.
started to dismantle diff lock bits. ...... well ....... just a nut and bolt.
took me over 1/2 hr to get off coz thread was stripped !!!!

Made a carrier for the Hi-lift.

1st take
one bonnet mounted wheel retaining ring,
one length of 50mm x 50mm box section steel
one length of 50mm x 50mm angle iron.

Hack, cut, grind and then weld the lot together..

Result..

Add 2 m12x 100mm bolts and it's ready to take the High lift Or a JackAll in my case..

And the jack in place..

The took the Jack off and stripped it apart before painting it all

New tyres turned up so I booked MoT for friday. Cleaned inside and out. Gave it a polish and painted the rear door where the wheel cover has rubbed.
Not a land rover but I stuffed the front end in on my sludger golf.

Adjusted passe nger side door so it closes and buggered the push-lock!

Fitted a strip to hold the roof lining up.

Checked and topped up all fluids.

Then had a cuppa!

Drove it not very far although I probably shouldn't because it's still got sticky petrol injectors I haven't sorted out yet
