This isn't the gearbox one this is the central member, got another piece of smaller 5mm box for the gearbox one……….again free and the right length so I aint complaining :D


Tis all 2mm or thinner. :eek: even main chassis.

Yup big enough lol. I've made closing plates for the back too, to stop extra crud getting in.

It's closer to £160 plus delivery for a rear X and when it needs an exhaust, various bits of wiring sorting, 4 tyres, and (maybe) a 200 tdi conversion why shouldn't I save a wee bit here.

I'm still considering buying a rear X but might worry about that once it has an mot lol

Discovery to defender gearbox convertor, simple enough if you have a lathe. This is it about 50% complete, two of the three lips are turned and then it needs a hole drilling and tapping along with a 5/8th hole in either end with a 3/4" solid in the to separate them

Started life as a 50mm bar and turned to the correct diameter

I'll make a separate thread detailing it incase anyone needs to search in the future but I used some pinched designs (essentially going to compound the info)

Took one look at silver, durty and salty complete with fat arsed cat prints over the bonnet, contemplated getting bucket and sponge out in the cold and wind...ended up at the garage power wash instead...worth £4 today.
 
Worked out how to fit the Disklock I bought her a couple of weeks ago.

Destructions are hopeless :confused::confused:

Don't they need splines put in the?
 
I fitted my Wolf wheels and went for a drive:)

They is about four inches taller than the Disco tyred standard rims and I'm now going faster with less revs:)

Bobtailed the disco. RobinT reckons there's summat wrong wiv it. But I'm sure I've cut it in the right place.. :confused:

And decided that if a defender can have a removable transmission tunnel. To make it easier to get at the bell housing bolts. So can a disco..
