Drove it. Since I returned to the world of full time employment my19 year old 300tdi 90 has become my daily driver. I was a bit worried at first because when it came to me it was supposed to be going into gentle retirement, like me and now we are both working full time again. Ah well life still has some surprises ;)

replaced light cluster in rear bumper last nite, after i reversed into the ifor williams tow hitch!

nearly 5ft of bumper and had to hit dead centre of the 6" wide light cluster!

Haha mine is 24 years old with a slightly newer 200tdi in it and its been my daily driver for about 6 months now. And can often be put to seriously hard work towing at work, like entire fully loaded vans when my college decides he going to get it stuck in a fields on jobs ;)

Started fitting the long list of spares sat in the house,

today, number one ball joint (fecking pain), number two ball joint, steering rod, cross rod eye and new steering damper.......and the back springs on the audi!

tommorrow track rod and ball joints and rear radius arms.

ready fur the drive to scotland on monday!

Just remembered that I have to change the ****e LED bulbs that I put behind the speedo and temp gauge because they broke within 2 months  my fault for buying crap off eBay :D

I've fitted the EGR bypass to my TD5 engine. It was fairly straightforward as I spent a bit of time freeing up bolts a few days ago. It all looks nice and shiny and I shall have a long run tomorrow over to Chester and back to see if it makes a difference. I've started working on the nuts and bolts to swap the exhaust over. I'm gently cutting off the nuts on the turbo to exhaust flange because they won't move and I don't want to damage the studs. I've made a start and I'll get them off completely on Saturday.

Even after fitting a solar charger to the Disco's battery to help keep charge on what is now a weekend car ... after testing the battery tonight, it tells me I've either got a major drain on power somewhere or the battery is knackered. Given the fact that my landy has been the recovery vehicle for my local neighbours for some years I reckon I've killed the battery .... will get it properly tested tomorrow...

MOT'd the old 110. Failed on handbrake (just needed adjusting), two small patches needed on front nearsdie out rigger & two bushes on rear suspension. Happy days. Not bad for a 20 year old vechicle and this is the first chassis welding its ever had.

Used mine to go deep into the forest to get a Christmas tree. Then had to give it a good jet wash as it got covered in snow and mud.
Bit worried, I have been using it for the last few months as my daily drive and its going great guns.

Ordered a winch motor .. Cracking service .. called me 10 mins later for mobile number, motor already on it's way, will be with me tomorrow!!

Also ordered a Hawse for a plasma rope, gaskets for the winch, gearbox and motor so will hopefully have the winch rebuilt for New Year!

I'm off out in a minute to have another assault on my manifold nuts to try and get them off without shearing the studs. Wish me luck! If all goes according to plan I'll have the new exhaust on today.
