keep me quite for a bit
also got 4 series to rebuild

fitted me noo (old) Transfer box. and drained the gearbox and refilled it.. oh and adjusted the parking brake..

Pressure washed the underneath of my Defender to get rid of all the mud as well as the body, Continued to clean up the Discovery axle ready to go on, topped up the washer fluid, engine oil, coolant and tightened the power steering belt :biggrin1:

Fitted the pipework as a conduit and ran the wiring for the spots through it. Still looking for a relay ... I know I have one somewhere!! :D:D:D

removed the rear prop shaft finally after having to grind one of the nuts off the handbrake hub end. dam butter nuts they just rounded straight away!! have to renew my handbrake shoes and transfer box seal.

Iv resealed the clutch master cylinder, done all the nessesery bleeding but still no clutch. Im now thinking this is going to cost me a few quid.

Took mine for a spin to buy some roof bars. I can start using my rooftent at last.

Unstuck the diff lock using this fab site to guide me through, some ham fisted bafoon had already done it once, but instead of drilling the rivets out for the cover & replacing them had simply forced the cover off & left everything loose! Never mind the diff's all loose now & ready to play & the cover is all tight.

Also got around to swapping my window switches round to identify why two of them aren't working.....found one dodgy switch then ran out of time. So a job for another day is to take the door trim off to see what's going on there.

replaced drag link end when i got in from work... in the dark.. no garage..

took the whole bar off, stuck in my garden bench vice.. ****ted the **** out of it for 45 mins and finally got it loose..

all back together.. shortened it a bit to straighten mi steering from when i did the other end.. lol...

Ordered a Safari snorkel to replace the ugly mushroom. :)
Dull question maybe but it has crossed my mind.. the ECU is located next to the jack/battery correct? - I have been advised to check the wiring loom for traces of oil in the connector as it can short things out.. (still have to check this when I find out where it's located).. but when wading isn't the ecu/ connectors a worry or do you waterproof them? - just curious as it seems a strange place to put them, considering the shogun had the ecu units hidden in the dash just underneath the heater controls, high up.. each one to their own,.. just wondering how durable they are to any sort of harsh treatment  :)
