Dull question maybe but it has crossed my mind.. the ECU is located next to the jack/battery correct? - I have been advised to check the wiring loom for traces of oil in the connector as it can short things out.. (still have to check this when I find out where it's located).. but when wading isn't the ecu/ connectors a worry or do you waterproof them? - just curious as it seems a strange place to put them, considering the shogun had the ecu units hidden in the dash just underneath the heater controls, high up.. each one to their own,.. just wondering how durable they are to any sort of harsh treatment  :)

erm ... pass:confused: Mine's a 200tdi and not an ECU within walking distance so wouldn't know really.

removed shagged front diff, replaced another track rod end, stripped serviced and rebuilt front propshaft and then cried at all the snow coming down and my disco up on stands :(

Dr Evil.. those pictures ilustrate the typical work on any land Rover...

first pic, bull bar and a single tool set, very optimistic that any job is going to be easy... never!
then..... mole grips cause some fokin bolt wont stop spinning
then.... disc cutter and chisel because some bolt won't even spin
then... **** loads of tools everywhere

hahaha, brilliant
was almost like me today, doing the simple job of checking wheel bearing and ending up with 3 snapped bolts on the hub.. happy days!

hahaha yeah the bastarding bolts were stuck solid with waxoyl and rust on the threads

Was thinking one hour max…..but no, bolts stuck fast, had to get more tools to find out they wouldn't move so angle grinder came out, no blade had to get a new one from the builders merchant then spent ages trying to prise the bumper apart and get the bullbar in without chopping it up.

Worth it in the end though! Looks so much meaner
