turned my rear arb the right way up again!

relocated the rear spring that popped out yesterday at p&p..

removed the tree slider i bent out of shape yesterday.. it only mounts to plates like original steps and the plates had bent, and the mounts on the sliders had bent too..

got em in my vice and pulled em all straight and found that the welding on em was a bit poo.. there was no penetration to some of the welds and were only attached to one side of a join, totally missed the part they were supposed to be welded to..

so i welded em up a bit better... think i'm gonna have to modify em so they bolt through the sills as well.. make em a bit more sturdy cos they aint up to the job at the moment..

oh and jet washed it top and bottom !

then jet washed the street.........

fitted new lift pump and all new fuel pipe and give it a good wash

found out why the wipers stopped working yesterday in the "monsoon" bloody cable worm gear snapped off (right by the motor thankfully ).
popped in the local stealers and picked a new 1, fitted it earlier and got the motor crank positioned wrong  turned the wipers on to check before putting all the dash back together and it did a half hearted end of sweep now the motor wont run  (checked fuses cant find any blown with wiper designation in the fuse board ):rolleyes:
any sensable idea's anyone ? ? ?

Satan designed the landy wiper system...

Possibly the cable snagged on one of the wiper-wheels.

think it was down to wrong position in the motor gear end , i checked they were working before i connected motor (moved 1 wiper and they move together fairly freely ).

i agree on the satan bit though bloody terrible setup
plus side i found out why the dash ciggy lighter dont work 1 of the spad connectors was off (probably when i sorted the alpine head unit out tother day )

most wipers run on permament live, only earthing out during sweep of blade I think.
after doing some work on rear door on my disco recently, the wiper never stopped !
out came the circuit tester ???
in the end the wiresnips cut 1 or 2 wires = sorted.
push rearwipe swich now gives a choice of a couple of sweeps, or half a sweep..
least it now stops....

I've decided the series ones are dangerous :D 1 speed only and its slow

Mine is due for its control technic which is the same as the M,O,T,. Only here in France it is every two years. I thought what needs doing and decided everything was fine.

I was looking at my tires which are fine, plenty of tread but my BF Goodridge Trac edge are not brilliant in the snow. They don't steer well. I was thinking about putting some Grabber AT as they seem to have better write up in the snow. I have put winter tires on my Renault which are a big improvement in the snow. At least I Know I will be able to get out of the drive way. Anyone running on Grabbers AT out there?
