Spend over an hour de-EGR'ing it at -6 degrees C!

Job done! :)

Not without putting a self-tapper in the vacuum t-piece though, where it snapped off while I was trying to remove the hose to the EGR :(

Brakes still work well though, so it's obviously blocked well enough! Looks a lot cleaner in the engine bay now too with all the EGR stuff gone.

I didn't know what to do with the pipe to the EGR so I just pushed it onto one of the wee screws on the solenoid. Seems ok there.

Started heater o-ring replacement having got fed up with more ice inside car than outside, and having a doris who won't even get in it till it's done! So far so good using the rangerover.net shortcut method, panels out, access holes cut etc. and temp sensor replaced. Now just the dammed o-rings themselves...... All this work to replace a couple of quids worth of seals is nuts!

Just got up the workshop to discover the Landys been broken into. Window smashed, brand new cb gone along with aerial, cd player and tye full tank of fuel it had.
Anyone got a spare drivers window for a 300tdi? :(

sat looking at mine outside the window..... lane is snow over ice.... ive got a sack of spuds a a full chest freezer... kids dont have to go to school , we could get out but dont need to... kids are old enough not to throw a hissy fit if theres no rubbish to unwrap on saturday morning

Sorted the rattling engine cover, replaced the bare metal plates with rear bump-stops, and confirmed that there is an electrical feed to the heated screen, meaning it's the element itself that is knackered.

Guess i'll start de-icing it with boiling water then!

ps: brimming tip worked a treat! started first time after draining 45 odd litres of petrol out of the slag.... no fault codes on the snap on and seems to be running fine... stoopid rich folk eh ;) LR wanted to charge in excess of 5k... new egr, plugs, fuel lines, pump etc etc....

Was it a bit rattley after it first fired up or did it sound normal?

2 small 'bangs' on startup and then business as usual... did run about 5 litres of kerosene through the pump after we was finished draining all the petty out for good measure... seems to have done the the trick though :D

Very carefully reversed into a parking bay and knocked the feckin back box off on a low dirt bank :(

Oh well that's another job for the spring.

Drove it! Feck me it is so quick compared to the 19J :D

All levels alright, but i seem to have a oil leak.. from the rear crank... which i replaced.... with a genuine seal... :frusty::frusty: I give up :(
