Well I should have been going around the off road course at our local club event. Instead I have been mostly cursing whilst removing the failed power steering pump :(
The ouch of £160 for a new one is also still stinging

Carried on replacing bottom hinges and swapping stainless bolts in for the rusty old knackers - 5min job my arse.

Previous Farmer bodge was using bolts that had rusted to nothing so spent an Hour drilling them out.

Net result = One more hinge swappedo_O

So washed it and locked it away for the week......

Ouch, that seems steep.

This is what I did today...

Done nothing to the Landy today. Haven't even been out in it :(
But, as LZ is quiet tonight, I'll tell you about changing the rad on the C1.
Was quoted £180 +VAT from main dealer for the rad. I think he said fitting was £300+VAT, but can't be sure as I had been stunned by the rad quote and glazed over.
Bought and aftermarket rad and 2 litres of anti-freeze from a motor factors in Newcastle for £56 the lot. To be fair, I had to take the front of the car off, so I can see how they conjured up the fitting quote.

Having said that, it wasn't too bad a job. It's a 14 plate

Yes indeed, I like the look of the chunky HD ones. After seeing your break I will probably change them lol

There is an argument for keeping it std, if you uprate the half shafts to HD then where is the weakest link and what will break?
I broke that one being a bit too zealous when I was crossaxled, Me BAD!. But then, I have over the last 6 years also broken 2 rear diffs where the centre pin has snapped. Half shaft is a lot easier and cheaper to change than a diff.

Changing to the separate flange and halfshaft in my mind just adds a further wear point to add to backlash.

Cheers

Hurrah, finished swapping old saggy hinges for new ones with Stainless bolts. About sodding time.

Run out of enthusiasm for the damn thing now, growing list of worn out things that need doing (all the suspension bushes Front and Back) yet to finish the front Shox/Springs swap, load bay repaint, Tonneau cover (still being made - 4th version)

Going to Mothball it and start again later in the year.....bloody thing, Grrrr...
