Well after a days greenlaning on the plains of Salisbury.

All I had to do today was take the alternator off as the needles in the rear bearing have disappeared.......:(
Removed the throttle cable as it decided to jam on when some crud got inside it. Have given it a good clean and all feels smooth and light now.
Will have to wash the viscous fan to see what has caused it to stay on. Maybe time to get a new one.

Cheers

Mine does that ..

,, since I bolted through it 'cos it never came on at all ... and the electric fan I put on is a bit (Actually a lot) crap .. ;)

Suppose I need a new one really, 'specially in winter!!

Mine was fine until I went through some deep icy water. I stopped a few minutes later and when I went to restart I found the temp gauge was only just above the bottom, and it stayed there for 30 minutes. Where it was in the middle before and It would not move change. So I popped the fan off and hey presto after 10 minutes the gauge went to where it was before the icy water bath.

But hey, who needs a stupid fan anyway....will save on all the crud being thrown around the engine bay...LOL

Cheers

Heheheh, yeah, rarely an issue in summer, let alone winter. I locked mine 'cos I once had a broken radiator that caused me to over heat 'VERY' quickly, don't want that again but it's a right hassle right now .. just tend to forget teh minor stuff!

Ordered the Alternator Yesterday at lunchtime , it arrived at 11AM and is now fitted, now I can take it down the jetwash to get rid of half of Salisbury Plain.

Cheers

Fitted the fuel pump top back in place and it runs OK, then got the alternator refurb kit in the post so set about making one good one from the two knackered ones I have.....I hope,:eek:, will have to take the new one off and see if the repaired one works OK I suppose.

Cheers

Looked at it out of the window - I need to pop to Dingo for a new clutch slave but can't lever myself off the sofa.

Just fitted theses what a pain as the old ones were rusted solid so out came the angle grinder so lot of sparks and swearing and singed beard there done along with new bump stops that were not the're at all
