I have been playing around with the adjustment on the door striker plate and I think I have now got it so I don't have to slam the door several times to get it to close properly and still not have gaps around the door seal.

Currently fitting new hand break shoes and new expander unit. im a little puzzled though, does anyone know if the expander unit is supposed to sit flush to the back of the drum, ie. it stays tight against the drum and the whole unit doesnt move back and forth. Little hard to explain but i think its why i was have problems last time.

Is there supposed to be a clip, or wash on the little bit of the expander unit that pokes out the back of the drum? there are two grooves on the unit.

well today, in the sunshine, oh, plus a fleese under a coat till i got sweaty ;)
I rewired in one new ceramic headlight plug so I got both dipped & main beams,
the other side was easier for the moment, just a bad joint, so got the ceramic plug still to do on another sunny day.
while I was there, I joined the twin fog lights switched feed to dip beam, through another used but great ex Lada relay, one of many we salvaged from a samara we run in for scrap a few years ago...
got lights can travel...

as the Essex county council have decreed that we dont need street lights on after midnight till 5am in the mornings,
I really really needed my lights & fogs working eh...

I needed to move the landy so had to fit the new idler pulley even though the new fan belt hasn't arrived yet.:(

Yaa I found those parts. They are on order! Tis a pain. I was very excited about having a handbrake that comes on only when I tell it too :)

Never mind. Shall have to pick another warming day when I have the parts. Just want to sort my final glow plug now

Ordered some cleaner for the MAF and MAP sensors so I can do them at the same time as removing the EGR. Discovered the correct part numbers for the roof bar gaskets on my version of D2 and bought some locking hole plugs as I might just leave the bars off when I fix the sunroofs.

Fitted 2 new rear shocks after one snapped on Saturday. Glad it did though or I wouldn't have done it for a while, the snapped one was seized all the way down and the other side wasn't rebounding. What a difference to the way it drives.

Now I need to order some dislocation cones as the new shocks are plus 2 and the rear springs always need a little help to seat again.

A belated congratulations to my beloved for passing her mot on Tuesday with only one advisory :D not bad for a 26 year old 90.

Drove the 90 about.

Considering selling the series 3, not got the money to restore it and i'd rather get some of the money back that i've thrown into it ( £1k in the last year :O )

Well I drove mine too :D Second time I've checked out a road locally that was "unsuitable for motors" thats both of them now :)

Anyway nothing actually done BUT I have ordered: 2m of 3.2mm ID cloth covered fuel pipe for the returns, a delphi fuel pump and gasket, a replacement new style 300TDi exhaust rear half, washer pump for the rear, wiper blades and arms for the front and a wiper switch
