Putting a new GKN vcu together and hopefully a dry weekend to finish the job off

What's the date on it?
There is a theory that the fluid in the VCU calendar ages when not mixed for some time. IIRC GKN haven't made a new VCU since 2010, which makes even new VCUs over a decade old.
Keep a eye on it, and test it regularly. ;)

It’s a 2015 I think it was you who spotted the date when I bought it ?
I have an old picture I shall check

Nice! Did you get the old one apart already? I had a bit of a fight to get the prop off the old VCU.
Ya it actually came apart relatively easily I was shocked as it had been outside for over a year
In fact the prop I got as a spare also came apart no problem as well so happy days
I had been dredging the job tbh so sometimes you do actually get a break

We said goodbye to our 13 Yr old Golden Retriever today. She loved the Landy. Bit gutted. :(
Sorry to hear that mate. We lost our 12yr old Springer this time last year and it still hurts.
We only had our Springer pup Freddie a few months when it happened and he was a great help but we still miss Alfie. :(

Always sad. Feeling for you.

We lost our Alfie 9 months ago at 15. If I had any free time after keeping my eye on his 8 month old replacement, I'd still be missing him heaps :D

Our Alfie will live on though as my profile pic, can't change that :D

Got the Bonnet Open warning on my FL2 today, so after a bit of internet searching I pulled connector off the sensor and shorted the terminals in the plug with a bent pin.
Now I need to decide whether to replace the sensor or to try cleaning it up to get it working again.

New intercooler hose (the long curved one) for my TD4. Not a fancy silicone one but black rubber. The old one had rubbed to a bracket underneath because someone had broken the rubber cushion that should be covering the bolt head. I removed the bolt and used a zip tie instead.

Today I has mostly fitted a new rear door (tailgate) handle. Not only does the rear door open, but bonus: it also closes when required! Next comes the gas soldering iron to replace the corroded heated rear window connectors. Never a dull weekend with a Hippo.
