Managed to contort my fat head past the exhaust and hammered the boot screw retainers up and out. Welding up the leaks is on tomorrow

Replaced the rear light cluster retaining screws with stainless ones. Because I can and I'm an engineering miracleworker.

Good question, although it looks genuine.
Will pick it up tomorrow - from near you funnily enough!
(Well Cornwall anyway :p )
Sounds interesting. I've been looking for the genuine G4 sculptured rack of years. I think they look brilliant on the FL1, and so practical too.

Where are you getting it from, if you don't mind me asking?

On the G4 rack, found a company that can clone it for £800 +vat for min order 10.

For mot fitted new anti roll bar bar clamps to replace old ones that HD rotted away! This meant that the roll bar had moved sideways and was contacting the strut on one side. Collars fit brilliantly. Also replaced bushes and track rod end. New headlight bulbs and back for retest tomorrow!!

Replaced the air and fuel filters prior to my bi-annual côntrole technique in April. This is the second time I've changed the fuel filter myself. It didn't want to start right away but it did on the fourth try. I must've lost more fuel than last time; if memory serves it started right up the last time I did it. Good thing the battery held.

Are you moving your td4 on Nodge?
When I've fixed the damn thing, yes. It's been a bitch the last few months ,and I'm at the end of my tether with the thing. :(
The wife has decided to get into the Fiat 500 scene. She's got a reasonable 1.4 Sport to play with, so her BMW E46 convertible is going, thank goodness. This means the Mazda will be going spare for me to use daily, so keeping the aging, very unreliable and expensive TD4 going is more a labour of love, of which it's exhausted the love part. So I've a gearbox to rebuild and get it working correctly, and it'll be going for as much as I can get for it.

I might well get another FL1 in the future, which I fancy making it into an EV project, but that's for another day.:D

For now we're have a trim back on expensive and unreliable cars, moving to cheaper and hopefully more reliable motoring.

We're also going to The Fully Charged show in October, as we are thinking that the Mazda could well make way for something more modern, maybe a Tesla , if the finances make it worthwhile.
