just fitted a new water pump to the wife ageing 1998 1800 petrol . what a fiddly job I di not have the engine locking tool or the cam wheels locker either but I did not have any problem starting it up either

Looked at my tyres and sighed while shaking my head.
Thinking of getting a set of 5 Grabbers.

Last time I did that one of the studs which secure it came out with the old one. Didn't notice until I had the new one and timing belt on and couldn't understand why it was moving. Ended up tapping it through the hole into the block so didn't need to take it all apart again. Did you use instant gasket to hold the seal in place?

Swapped my old 6" halogen spots for a single 72W LED bar at the front. Just need to check alignment next time I'm working nights.

Also trial fitted my homemade "G4" roof light bar. So far so good.

hi yes a used the blue gasket seal I put a bit more on around the pump which also held the rubber seal in when I tightened it down the seal spread out and thus gave a2 seals

In between the rain I removed the dreaded diesel pump filter assembly - that's it it's not going back! Well not tonight anyway. It's been sent to the corner in a large plastic box to sulk until tomorrow.I could rant on on about who thought it was a good idea to put it blah blah blah but it has all been said before.

One question the little piece of spare pipe with a jubilee clip either end that looks like an afterthought cause something didn't quiet reach - is it original - I have seen the masterpiece of engineering on a couple of other peeps pics but just not sure. I suppose being LR the whole car could have been designed around it.
Shown in pic below--

I was told I would need 16 inch wheels for those tyres. General grabber also do a 235/60/18 which could be an option.
My Hankooks are 235/50/18 and they only just miss the wheel arch when steering.
Although that could be due to the lower suspension of the sport (I still haven't fitted my lift kit).

Installed switches for front and rear LED on roof rack, installed T-Max controller for split-carge relay (and for a 55Ah Optima yellow-top leisure battery, for cooler, lights etc - and a future winch, hopefully!). Also installed a dual usb charger port in dash. More to follow...
