I dont take my car to a garage for an mot as they have a vested interest in it failing, I take mine to my local council, as they dont do service or repair for the general public I be leave you get a truer test. Working myself in garages for a good part of 40 years I dont think I have not seen an exaggerate test. One place I worked expected an extra £200 from any mot or service. and put a lot of pressure on mechanics. I no one bloke had a disciplinary for not meeting the requirements.

sorted the swimming pool out in the boot locker.the screws that hold the locker hinges in place go through the boot floor into some sort of plastic grommit thingy anyways screws are supposed to go through the centre of the grommets mine had missed completely and came out the side of the plastic resulting in holes in the floor anyway new grommets and little rubbers ordered from the stealers

What it failed on is what I knew it needed anyway... the garage it was tested at isn't the garage that does the work for me :)

Cleaned the three spare intake manifolds and EGR's I have ready for swapping over through out next year, on my FL 1 and my sons MG ZT diesel :)

Good days laning today with Peterborough land rover club. Day started in a typical fashion of Freelander **** taking and ended with most people in my group saying "I thought you would get stuck there" or "did a lot Better than I thought"
I think I even heard one person say they were going to buy one.

I did feel a little bit like I was taking a knife to a gun fight at times, especially tesco car park!

New drums and shoes. The old shoes looked meaty enough but one was peeling off ! Now the brakes feel so much better and the handbrake actually works.

Took it back to Cheviot 4x4 to get things fixed for the MOT and get a new thermostat fitted...

Discovered that they replaced my BMW cyclone breather with a filter breather during the service.....aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!

Amazing how well it now drives with working brakes, no more knocking from the front left, and a thermostat that works properly :D Happy Simon

Now you can sell a working vehicle :D

Glad you got it sorted.
Haha funny, £830 lighter like, thermostat was my own choice but it seemed to be on its way out, rest was just disks and pads, a tre and a drop link, nowt major

I's amazing how quickly it adds up. It is too cold for me to do any work on mine now, so any work that needs to be done will be done by a Freelander specialist now.... until spring/summer.
