Today I have replaced the break drums and replaced all the working parts and pads in the breaks. Including both wheel cylinders. Upper and Lower spring assembly's the adjuster struts. And the hand-break strut. Good as new. :)

Having sorted out the lights, I took it for its 6 monthly warrant today (MOT) - failed on the 2 front tyres. Thought it might!

Never mind, to the tyre shop. Left it with them and had a little walk down the road to have a chat with my friendly Rover parts breaker man. Back to collect the car to see original tyres still on it. The #### had sheared the ridges off the locking nut key!

So back to friendly breaker ho didn't have the right key so bought 5 wheel nuts!

May just try the main stealer in town first tomorrow to see if they'll sell a key before I start using those naughty words getting the locking nuts off!

Hang on a minute there. That aint your problem. If they damaged the wheel nut remover - its down to them to get you a new one, not you.

Just been to the scrapyard. Picked up outer window rubber for drivers door and the outer /inner rubber inc separator for the rear passenger door, for the grand sum of £20:D

Well I left the car with them and went and saw my trusty parts supplier down the road. I always shop around for tyres - this was the first time I'd used this outfit. He said it was stripped before he started. Whether it was or not I don't know - I can't be sure I have actually removed a wheel in the 6 months since I replaced the other 2 tyres. So it was an argument I skipped and just got on with life!

Funnily enough I was considering taking a front wheel off at the weekend to give me easier access to the indicator lens - but took the light cluster off in the end. I'd have known then.

The locking wheel nut keys are soft as cheese. But for some unknown reason, tyre fitters insist on using buzz guns on them. The key simply isn't designed to be used that way.
I've successfully repaired a stripped key with a couple of accurately placed blobs of weld.
Hopefully you get it sorted.

I spoke to the main dealer in town today - they don't stock them and have to order them in - don't know if they're held in NZ or need to be shipped from UK. They did say they have one themselves though to get my bolts off. Didn't have time today, so will take it down on Monday and swap over to the standard bolts I got. I'll then get 2 keys sent over from the UK so I have a spare.

replaced engine stabiliser link part no .kkh102260 just incase i got the name wrong and need to be told otherwise
:)

Replaced the window rubbers i got yesterday from the scrappers.

Front was a doddle, passenger rear was a F***** nightmare to get back in
