Cheers The Mad Hat Man, I remember seeing it a while ago, will do a search. No point in re-inventing the wheel !

This evening I have replaced the drivers door lock/latch. Took the old one out last night - am used to fixing them by oiling the motors etc. but not this one - can't get into it without breaking it. Got a genuine new one for £65 from Adventure 4x4 in Leeds - cheaper than some second hand ones on e-bay. It's cured the problem (drivers door not working on central locking) but oh my word that has to have been one of the most frustrating, fiddly handscratching jobs ever....

Ive used Adventure 4x4 before ..got a new rear window regulator with motor from them for £49.99 :D think it was a pricing mistake on their part.. but I was well happy:)

first time you do it is always a nightmare, but second or third becomes easier and easier. took me an hour and a quarter to do the drivers door, but only half an hour to do the passenger door. then did someone elses and down to 20 minutes !

I have being out with the hosepipe and i still cant find where the water is entering the tailgate all I can see is where its dripping from the trim on to the floor I lifted the trim and there isnt even water marks to follow....

Maybe this car has a built in sprinkler system lol

Freelanders, don't you just love them!!
My custom cubby box mounted sub started to play up in the week. I had visions of the cubby full of water trashing my amp.
Opened it up and it's still bone dry, even with this endless rain.
The speaker had a bad connection, so easily sorted.

Is your tailgate vapour barrier intact? ( that funny plasticky bit behind the door panel).

Which trim is it dripping off?

the membrane was first thing to sort when i bought the car

its weeping in through the door and seal so clearly the seal needs replacing cnt see how it can be anything else

Swore at it a few times....

Changed the glow plugs, what a faf that is! Only changed 3 as the one behind the fuel pump looked butchered and I thought if Somone else has messed about with it and they couldn't get it off then I'm not going to give it a go. Didn't much fancy taking the pump off anyway as I hadn't got new seals.

Bloody ridiculous idea to make you take the pump off and drain the coolant

£700+ i was quoted to swap the plugs by whats now halfords (nationwide i think)..

Didnt end doing it as it was the battery at the time but i agree swap the 3 more than good enough to start the hippo..

If I just did the 3 plugs it wouldn't have taken a great deal of time. Haynes book of lies said you have to remove the metal elbow where the coolant temp sensor is but I found that just taking the hose off and using a swan neck spanner was just enough. Most of my time was taken up sorting out the fuel pump belt. I couldn't be arsed to take off the undertray again so did it with the timing marks on the cam sprocket
