Been out to same quarry as yesterday, got mud washed off by little floods! Drowned some small black car on way home, by hitting puddle. Felt good cos sunroof didn't rain in. My hippo runs so much better when it's cold, does yours?:crazy_driver:

Back out with the dogs, & Missus to old quarry, dogs had good run. Had a bit of fun on wet turf, rocks & mud, lovely. I need a couple of tyres, can't complain, they've done 20k miles. I was going to change to more off road biased pattern (I'm running Nankang SP5s), but I don't think I need to now. I'm having enough trouble trying to get stuck with these, keep failing miserably.
I'm a fraud, can't fill the forum with pictures of broken oily bits or obscure electrical connectors. My windows have been done, I've got a power box on, the sunroof doesn't rain in, my transmission works. Sorry everyone.

Gearbox has been a bit whiney lately so thought I'd change the oil.
Read Hippo's instructions, whipped out to Maplin's and bought a thermometer.
On the way back, indicator started playing up - I had previously fixed a broken spring connector by building it up with solder.
Got home and bought new bulb holder on Ebay.
Then realised the thermometer was the wrong one

Put the head back on, However forgot to put the cambelt rear cover on before I put the cam pulleys back on

Spent a shed load of money with Paddocks buying a new Diff, VCU and bearings as bell engineering didn't have a diff ready for 2 weeks and I need one as of now!

Renovated the tailgate latch which become flaky.
Stripped actuator assembly, Tri-Flo'd it up, fitted back in tailgate, been fine so far!

Re-seated the tailgate window seal which was pinched at the corner, so hopefully that will stop the water ingress (membrane was fine), not sure if it will stay re-seated, but worth a go.

Indicator bulb holder arrived in the post, different colour to the existing one but I don't suppose that will matter.
Will try it when it stops raining.

Not quite today,,more like friday but been away so had nt posted,,

Changed plugs cos it was running a bit rough and had nt been serviced for a long time by the looks of it,, started it up and promptly either put a hole in a piston,,dropped a valve or maybe even an instant hg failure......... not a happy bunny right now
