or a re-incarnated tratter boy:D

Clean intake manifold, fitted egr blanking kit and replaced crankcase filter.

Was yours bad buddy? Make much of a difference? Only ask as some people say there's havent been as bad as others and the difference hasn't been quite as noticeable because of it.

I got a gear gator through the post today. I also pick it up on Saturday. So excited but then I have a car to detail so it won't give me much chance to play. Ill have given it a good drive over the Pennines to get it home though.

Rubbish update but it means I'm a step closer. Paid for insurance to pick up my freelander today.

Admiral are a joke though. Another reason I am changing ASAP.

I currently own a car which is insured up until the 10th July (when it runs out). I phoned up to be told that because my insurance renewal was nearly up I could only deal with the renewal department. They gave me a so called direct phone line (which wasn't). I got through to someone else who said I still had to call the renewal people. Did I mention the same person asked for my details twice.

Anyway they put me through and someone answered the holding line and said thankyou for holding and stopped. I said hello, they then repeated hello back. Arkward silence. They then proceed to tell me I was in a que and would I like a direct phone number or to hold the line. Having being given a direct number already I opted to be put in the que. This was the 3rd Indian person I had spoken to with a weak phone signal (probably due to being an overseas call). The person who could actually deal with my call was from a UK office, I had no problems until the point where she has currently left my current bloody car uninsured...

'I have being able to transfer your insurance to the Freelander but I have had some issues getting your current vehicle insured as the system has just gone down.'

I said so can I drive it, will I get stopped by police? She replied that I would be ok until Saturday as thats when it is set to change to the freelander (when I pick it up) She then said she would phone me back tomorrow at dinner.

I hope they sort it out. I wouldn't mind so much as she did apologise but it is an invoncinence even talking to them on the phone. Really blooming busy at the moment!

On the upside, I pick it up Saturday!

Hope it's sorted for you. I've never had an issue with admiral, I have a multicar policy with them that no one else could get near pricewise.

... I thought I'd add a little extra style to the dash. So I cut a tree down and did this...

Ok, so it's not real wood but I think the effect is spot on and the right colour too.

I've also installed a power outlet in the boot area. It's wired in to the loom under the centre console as, being a facelift model, the rear outlet in the armrest is not fitted. It's in a place where it can be used by back seat passengers and for equipment in the boot too.

Whilst the armrest was off and I had the centre console free, I took the opportunity to replace the worn gear gator and knob which had shed its leather with nice new quality leather items.

Got more stuff to do this weekend. I've got a pair of Landy spots and a moulded nudge bar to fit. And I've got a PCV to fit (got the BMW cyclone). Pics will follow!

Where did you get the gear knob from? I've been trying to obtain a new one for a while now.

Halfords! And only £5.99 which I thought was quite reasonable. The gaitor was off eBay and cost a tenner.

Something to note... The gear knob is held on with three grub screws rather than screwing on like the original does. I did a small mod using the collar from the original and enlarging the bore using a Dremmel drill so that it would go on instead of the chrome one supplied. This also allowed for the gator to attach as normal to the base of the knob. Makes it look OEM!

Another job completed today... Finally got the PCV mod sorted. I've been having a blue puff of smoke every time the freebie is started up after standing for a while and it had been suggested that it could be this. On removal it looked like it had never been changed since new and that was 90K miles ago. All seems to be fine now...

spent the day messing about getting the Tomtom app on my iphone to give me the directions through the car speakers

after 30 mins its done and loads better can hear it more now as it works off the volume of the stereo

scraped so it cant give any body else nightmares horrible unreliable piles of junk on wheels should all be crushed :D

Hi all,
Did a 're-blacking' of all the outside black trims ie wheel arches, back door, petrol cap, scuttle, handles etc.....

Time consuming but does look good....:D
