Borrowed a friends Testbook to disable the SPE feature on my TD4. Never got on with it since I had the car. Suppose it was a feature specially provided for the Hairdressers and Mommies doing the school run.
Also took the opportunity to check all the other ECU's for faults (None found).
One of the perks of having a buddy who owns a LR independant garage !!

Just ordered a complete set of Red silicone turbo hoses & T bolts from DPH.

The last of the preventative maintenance bits & bobs.....I hope

Replaced both front driveshaft. Off-side front boot had been split for a while and chucked grease all over the engine bay.The bearing were on their way, so I reasoned that the near-side may as well be done at the same time.At least I know they're both ok and shouldn't need doing again for ages. Also selling my tyres and rims as the tread is far too aggressive which adds to the strain on the driveshafts...............Will be fitting standard size Grabber AT's instead and get back 100 miles of diesel per tank that the MT's are costing me.

:behindsofa:

SPE="Single Point Entry"....Where the first press of the unlock button on the keyfob opens the drivers door only and a second press opens all doors. When the feature is disabled, all doors unlock on the first press.
:)

Cleaned out the inlet manifold on my 155000 miles td4 what a mess the ports should be roughly the size of a £2 coin but were the size of a penny!! Heard they get bad on here but to see it was a bit of a shock. So used inlet cleaner first then petrol with a small brush I found. Several hours later clean and has made a diference in power. Thanks for the info lads a job well done!! And on crutches not bad :)
