Finally got round to headliner replacement.

Knock up a couple of formers to fit in the mag racks otherwise the corners will pop out until glue is dry. I used some softwood cut to size and weights.

Also, use high temp adhesive or it will fall off when sun hits roof.

I noticed the insulating effect today after I’d got it out and was putting the various fasteners back in their places. It was very hot without it in.
I’ve got a few bitumen deadening panels left from my MG project, would you put them on the roof or do you think they or their glue would melt and fall off? 👍🏻

So my rear door's latch actuator is failing. Had to remove the door card with the door stuck shut - tricky but not impossible. In taking the card off I managed to break the left hand side 'clip' holders - snapped neatly off at their base. Scrappy wanted asked $200 [£100] for one - eek:{ So I bought and hot staple plastic welding gun and some epoxy glue off Ali exp' for less than $50. Super glued the clip holder back in place - melted 7 staples onto each holder [inside & out] - then smeared epoxy glue over the repair area. Repair seems pretty good - now onto fitting that actuator.

I've got to do that job in the spring :|
I'm way to lazy to do all that work so a couple of days ago I peeled back the headliner above the drivers seat and sprayed in some adhesive, gave it a few minutes and smoothed it back into position. Worked a treat but I guess we'll see how long it lasts.

Some day I might do the same for the passengers but for now nobody sitting in those seats is tall enough for it to be a problem. :p

A result for you there. Unfortunately for me I got sick of the dust all over the dash and steering wheel, it rubbing on my head and starting to block the rear view mirror. If it all goes pear shaped I could easily get used to no headliner thought.
For future reference, does anyone know what the ECU on the OSR wheel arch is for ?
Cheers,
M

Maybe just paint the fibre glass and stick it back in.
I got rid of my test mule a week ago by calling the scrap metal man to come and take it away. There were lots of things I should have removed including the headliner but TBH laziness kicked in and I let it go. I might regret the decision but there is only so much crap you can hold on to.

@MaxTheDog1 don't suppose you have a close up pic of the offside front pillar with the lining off do you? Was trying to run a wire down there t'other day but didn't have much luck, knowing what it looks like might help.
