I did mine a couple of months ago and they came up great. Bit of a pain though as I've got light guards on and the hex screws just turned so couldn't get them out of the way! The lights look great for now but if they're going to need doing every year or so I'll have to sort those hex bolts!
 
Does anyone know if I can get a rear passenger window seal as mine is bubbling up along the top and it is difficult to find another seal that is reasonable?

I've been tempted to lacquer them like I've seen done on Youtube but not sure it would last any better and may cause other problems.

You need to use a UV blocking lacquer which will slow down the fogging process. When the lights are made, the Polycarbonate lenses are spray painted in a UV protective coating, to prevent UV fogging. Unfortunately over time this protective layer wears away, causing the initial fogging. The first abrasive clean with a fog removal compound strips the rest of the UV protective layer off, so the lights fog faster that before, hence the need for an annual clean. ;)
 
Or, I seem to recall reading that a nano quartz coating is also good for UV protection, and a heck of a lot easier to apply.

Decided to blast it from the beginning, so straight in with 400 grit....

Work through 800, 1500, 2000, 3000 and then polish.... 5-10 min each grade.... less than an hour total/headlamp...

Biggest problem when I started was buying the different grades without having to buy loads of the stuff....

I found this on Amazon.... others are available..... only used a third of a sheet of each grade per unit, and with 3 cars in the house, it will get used evenyually.... works out really cheap per unit....

We've had Jackdaws breeding in every barn this year !
One got into the workshop and 'rearranged' my laid out in order components !
They also leave a large amount of unpleasant deposit around, so watch your dashboard !
 
Took mine for a spin yesterday with my Tacklife OBD dongle attached to see what alarms come up.
1) Something to do with the EGR. Don’t care, it’s defeated.
2) Glow plugs. I might get round to replacing them before the winter, although I know they’ve been knackered for years without causing any starting problems.

Quite pleased those were the only fault codes considering the age and mileage of the old bus.
 
Last time I took bushes out I used a welder to heat the centre shaft so it fell out and it was fairly easy to bash out the rest of it.

I cut the outer ring to take them out, they got stuck putting the new ones in!!! Apologies, didn't make it clear.

I wound them in with my puller but they both got stuck and I would've stripped the thread if I had continued so off to the press we went. Garage owner said he'd do pretty much anything for a few packs of biscuits!!

Replaced rear regulator
Replaced rear speaker, had to make a facelift adaptor as the seller listed it incorrectly
Re-attached IPK temperature sensor wire
Replaced a load of rusty screws under wings, sump
Polished headlights
