i'm off to take the dog guard out of my 110 , my mate who i bought it off left it in but i don't need it so he can have it back for his other truck.
then i might change the handbrake cable, or at least the handbrake end as a local mechanic is doing the drum end tomorrow. (it snapped in case you are wondering).

then need to advertise my freelander somewhere else because getting no interest on here or on faceache marketplace and i need the drive space!!
 
Drove it...to Swindon and back. On the way there was over taken by a souped up 110 in a dark shade of heritage green that came tanking down the outside lane. I was trundling along at a steady 75mph, he must have been blatting a good 90+mph...then exited M4/J14 to Hungerford. Today's journey was the first time I've had the tilt fully fitted/sides rolled down since March this year.
 
Lack of MOT stops fun driving this weekend, looking forward to that being sorted the week after next.

Made a small project for the cab though, helped pass the time and keep myself occupied.

Cut some 12mm MDF to size, drilled holes that matched ones already in the top rail of the bulkhead.

Then used self adhesive van carpet and some aluminium C channel to wrap around the edges, keep them looking pretty.
Small afternoon project, but I reckon it breaks up the sea of NATO green in the cab. Also provides a base point for small bits, ie cupholders, spot for a Bluetooth speaker, that kind of thing. Will probably eventually get a cubby box, but this will work for the meantime.

Going to keep this messenger bag in here as well. it can hold bottles, bit and pieces.
 
Well woke up.. went to do the other hub, bearings, new disc's and calipers to find.. yes the other side did this too!

4 snapped bolts, about 10 nuts used trying to weld and remove them.. got there in the end! (about 30 mins of welding) put the wheel back on and everything! Even managed to put the braided lines on (up to the rear T).. tomorrow is going to be.. me VS rear brake line seized..

I've just given mine a service and made a couple of mistakes which might cause amusement. I always put the new oil in as soon as I can, in case I forget and try and start it with no oil in it. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten to put the plug back in the sump, and my first couple of litres of 5W30 ran straight through into the oil drain bucket. On putting the plug back in, I dropped the socket and ratchet into the bucket of waste oil for good measure.

As an MOT will be needed sometime in the next six weeks, I've also started the process of attempting to wobble all the joints underneath to check if anything needs a new bush or ball joint. So far so good - everything feels pretty firm. The steering ball joints are lasting exceptionally well. I last replaced them in the autumn of 2013 so they're ten years old now.
 
Back on the road after a layup for the Summer. Yesterday was spent washing it down and getting all the green stuff & cobwebs off, today was spent trying to tart up some of the paintwork and leaving the doors open to let the warm breeze in...probably last time I'll be able to do that until the Spring!
 
Fitted a jansite reversing camera i got from Amazon in their deal day, 50 quid and a bit extra for a hardwire kit. mounted the camera above the rear door with Sugru and drilled a hole for the wire.
Screen is in a rear view mirror that straps over the original and includes a trigger of the reversing light for reversing lines. screen even has a built in dashcam that records the front and rear.

I paid £30 for the pair.
 
looked at the fusebox today as i want to add in some wiring for my reversing cam , spotted two captive nuts on the fusebox frame, found some Allen head bolts in my stash which fit perfectly to give two easily accessible earth points. i assume these are mounts for some other electrical gubbins mine doesn't have.

Just been doing a .little electrical fault finding and got my sidelight working again. The wire had deteriorated and the mental had turned to powder inside the insulation. Fortunately it was only a few inches, and I was able to peel back the insulation and find some good metal to attach a crimp-on connector to, so we're all lit up now.
