Advisory on rear anti roll bar bushes on last MOT so replaced them & the drop links. Thankfully everything was well greased when it was rebuilt a few years ago so no drama getting everything undone.

After removing the crusty front bumper last week and finding the front chassis legs being well ventilated, I have tried to find someone who will do the welding. I’ve tried two local Indy specialists who do not appear too interested… :rolleyes:o_O Unfortunately, I don’t have time to learn to weld or do it myself. :(

Painted the roof today. Bloody dandelions!

Well I recently fitted a new wiper motor and park switch. Then the wipers wouldn't turn off, so today I changed the wiper relay thinking that might be the problem, but NO ! The wipers still wont turn off. they turned off before but the old wiper motor was clearly dying a slow and painful death. They work on all speeds except the intermittent mode, and the washers work also. I'm sure its gonna be something simple, just cant put my finger on it. HELP !

I was going to change the gearbox oil now I have a huge shiny spanner to get the drain plug off, but by the time I’d finished ‘Discovering’ the collapsed front wheel bearing on the D3 a)it was too hot and b) the beer was at the right temperature- so had to postpone.

Rain tomorrow- that’d be right for working on a Defender

swore at it......

repeatedly:D:D:D

realised the m10 bolts I'd bought to mount the pas steeringbox should have been m12:rolleyes:

nearly finished fitting the D1 200tdi rad in the ex-2.5nad front with re-imagining the bracketry etc.

swore a few more times & called a rest-halt for an icecream & cuppa.....

I'm finishing the sodding rad today.

Yay - Changed the Gearbox Oil (twice) the sludge that was in there was an eye opener, convinced this ‘90 was once a temporary submarine - now quiet and all is well except….

Boo#1 - Flexi on the exhaust down pipe has rotted out and split in several places, is now more like a sieve - needs replacing Grrrr

Boo #2 Oil cooler line is split and misting oil out, most of which is in the under tray but the rest is liberally coated to the engine block and running rear wards to the sump so found the oil leak (really shouldn’t have looked) A messy b’stard of a job…….

This ‘90 will be all but new when it’s sold!

Gotta love a Landy

200tdi?

don't condemn it yet, try compression-test & possibly lift the head?

IE.
headgasket between cylinder 2&3?

Rich.
It lost oil pressure and I had to keep going, towing a trailer. It didn't do it any favours :( My plan is to pull it and rebuild it but I would like to keep it running with a spare engine as the P38 is not really something I want to run every day.
