It lost oil pressure and I had to keep going, towing a trailer. It didn't do it any favours :( My plan is to pull it and rebuild it but I would like to keep it running with a spare engine

Ah.

200's are getting harder to find for sensible money now, gone are the days of the £200 Disco1's and proper Defender motors are getting silly:(

Rich.

I should of said, it is a disco 200tdi the previous owner fitted as the 19J ate itself!
Well that’s even easier.
So you say you lost oil pressure…. As said compression test and see what it is.

Now if you lost too much pressure you would/could have ate the turbo due to lack of oil.you would have heard this as the engine screams it’s last breath….

investigate first… then panic

It runs, it just sounds like a lot of jangly nuts and bolts being smacked around at 750 rpm!!!

I finished repairing my dumb irons today. It was a home fabrication jobbie where I used 3" box section and 80x40x3.5mm rectangular box section.

It's been a bit tricky at times but I think I have made a good enough job for 2 or 3 years until I consider a chassis change.
