yes, thanks @Hicap phill ...cranked arms, wider angle et al. They're very well made with the 19mm adjuster, solid grease nipple and the unit as a whole feels made of better quality/denser steel.
 
Stupid thing has kicked my arse again :mad: what should have been a simple oil change turns into a farce and I've lost interest. Can I get the drain plug out, no, have I got the space underneath to really get some purchase, no. MAP blow lamp on order as this is going to need heat. I've also noticed the radius arm bushes are perished anorl :mad:.

Do the radius arms require the bushes to be pressed in or can I get the shell bushes as a direct replacement?

I watched a Uboob video earlier that suggested an engineers vice will press the cotton reel bushes home without issue. Cheers for the reply ;)
I tried and gave up. I bought a 12 ton press and they go in easy. If it wasn't for this stupid situation, you could have brought them over :(

Cheers, very kind offer. The bushes that looked perished earlier were radius to chassis, however, I'm not dropping the things out to just bush that end.
 
I replaced the lifted heavy duty springs with standard height and standard duty springs. Drives 10x better now! Picture of the HD springs

Fitted stainless pistons to the front brakes. Actually quite straightforward, although I think I need to bleed the brakes again as they’re a bit soft.
 
Lob 'em in the freezer, that helps if you only have a vice available..

If it a proper Record Vice that is, not a puny one with no balls!!! ;)
 
Rear dampers and ARB bushes yesterday. Discovered a nasty hole in a fookin awkward part of the chassis which is going to need some drastic fixing!
 
So after many lockdown weekends of work, my 90 project is nearly complete. New panels, doors, roof, side panels removed and replaced with heavy-duty hood sticks (new tan canvas and black bikini), new hinges, bolts, and washers (the right spec and sizes), re-wired (removal of meters of old, useless wires that were doing nothing), striped back, primed and spray painted in Cornflower blue (an old 2A colour so I was told)... and loads more stuff that I could list.

A few jobs left... compounding and polishing the paintwork, removing the lift (going back to stock), new wolf rims (probably white), and BFGs.

Might not be to everyone's taste, but that's the fun of these... you make them your own. Anyway, I would be interested in your thoughts, suggestions (good or bad). BTW this is the first time I have ever done a rebuild, and a driveway respray so please go gentle ;)

The second pic is what I did to tidy it up, while I decided what I wanted to do with it
