Changed reversing light switch (pain in the arris to get to) headlight bulb and rear wiper blade. Nothing much really. Then discovered a bloody screw through a rear tyre! Sheeesh.....

Replaced a front fog light bulb, changed the windscreen wipers, replaced the broken cupholder and the broken brackets for the nearside steps/running boards. Plus I added another earth strap - no reason other than I had a spare one.

Tomorrows job are to wire in permanent feeds for the 'phone, dashcam and inverter, fit the cruise control switches to the steering wheel and re-glue the headlining.

Mondays jobs will be a full service and to reseal the leaky sunroof.

Put my 1997 300 Tdi Disco on ramps and power washed the underside and chassis prior to doing to MOT prep welding. I normally use an angle grinder to remove old, corroded sills but as it turns our a Bosch pressure washer is just as effective. Or could it be my sills were made of Weetabix?

Done a top quality bodge on my tank guard that'd rotted in half :p

Not the prettiest but it'll have to do 'til I can pick up a replacement from Paddocks

but you did it yourself .. that's all that matters. So spot on mate.
It's better than what half the mongs I employ could do..
and they are proper welders. Or so they say.. I think there mother slept with a welder, that's more like it..
and I must admit.. the welding on my disco is about the same standard.. if it needs to be pretty I will do it.. if it needs to be strong, it will be. But if it's going to get covered in underseal and smashed over rocks and then sold when I can't get anymore Dodegy MOT's , it's going to be rough!!
Only joking. It's not a Dodegy mot.. had to get a proper one this time..Stevie wonders braille mot garage was on holiday!!

Got the old girl (D2 TD5, before you ask) back from Joe at JR Classics in Doncaster. She was supposed to be in for just the week for Dinitrol treatment and some new side-steps, but some horrors were discovered once the sill covers and wheel arch liners came off, so she stayed an extra week for some welding.

I'm no welder, but very happy with the work, and was kept fully informed with calls and photos throughout.

Interesting to consider that she's been "treated" twice since I had her 6 years ago (both times by Rustmaster North), so I suppose this is a salutory lesson in what gets missed with a one-day service where no covers or liners are removed.

Ironically, chassis was in reasonably good nick (considering). Bit of welding needed on front outriggers, some signs of thinning around factory welds, but nothing approaching MOT worries.

Messed about with my air suspension i thought the nearside bag had blown but fitted a new one and found its not getting air pumps running but output is poor, new piston seal tomorrow will refit the pump swop out the other air bag and see what happens

Its even worse with the new piston seal I can stop the pump running if I put my finger over the output hole so pump weak/decked sh pump on order will report back im hopeing the bypass valves turn up first so i can recover the car home
