Well ive wondered were the funny smell is coming from and thought that smells awful and then left it
So I did at bit of digging on the smell issue turns out there was a bottle of milkshake and something that had turned into liquid, they have both been in there since September. They were both in the seat pocket behind me I felt a sick dragging it out of the pocket and cleaning it up
 
Jake on the belt sqweeeeeeek ! Did you notice any wear on the edge of the belt ? and did you check for any play in the water pump ?
 
The rear mudflap brackets have s seen better days so this weekend sorted out the passenger side one. The remains of the bracket and stay.

There was a hole where the bracket attaches to the wing which I had to fit a small patch to.

Collected my stainless manifold from work.
That just leaves a straight through stainless centre section to find and will have the full set :)

Would have gone home and chucked it on tonight but I've got to be 210 miles away in Wales by 9am so night in the lorry at base tonight and 2am start in the morning :eek:
 
on the 300 tdi,
Today I sorted a few electrical gremlins, 2 indicators working not working.
Cleaned some of the plastic trim at the back - looks good now.
Plastic gear change centre console cracked and broken in several places - need a new one as the handbrake lever trapping my hand on the console - anyone got one going spare?

The sound that you hear which you may think is suspension is actually the keys rattling and scraping on the cowling.

Had a great time but it took me almost as long again to wash the mud off !

got through plenty of rags and brushes along with a can of carb cleaner

took the sensors out and put a hose pipe through it , then allowed it to completely dry off

surprising how much hard carbon i was able to scrape out of the body

fingers crossed am thinking it's got to be better than before and maybe improving things

You won't know if the performance increase is due to the cleaning or EGR blanking. :). Not that it matters.
 
Bought an auto dimming rear view mirror, cos the manual I've got isn't very good. Just got to get the old one off - Rave says it pulls downwards, anyone done it and is it easy?

Last time I tried to remove a rear view mirror, I had to buy a new windscreen as well... :eek::eek:
