New drivers side front lower wishbone done and fitted a new rear calliper so the back didn't feel left out! No more knocks or scary steering.

thk god the bushes etc have all ready been done

looks a scary job to do ,

not looking forward to changing the discs and pads in the summer, especially the electronic hand brake shoes, gulp

Disks and pads are really easy. Mines now had all four calipers change and new disks/pads all round. EPB adjustment is a pain but worth it

I've just been to pay for it:oops: bugger it's in really good condition. Now I have the dilemma of Disco or Defender :(
Simple solution. Sell them both and get a Freelander. :)

The disco is the thinking mans tratter. If yer want creature comfort then it would be the one to go for, but I gets the feeling yer loves yer tratter and dun't want to part with it. Can the disco do all yer use yer tratter for? Does the disco have in it the life the tratter has int future? If you were to go for the disco, would yer be happy with the choice in 5 years? Assuming yer were going to keep yer tratterer for everer and everer if the disco hadn't turned up in good nick.

Front windscreen replaced. Old one cracked by a stone being thrown up.
Old one had quite a few broken elements on the heated screen so 2 birds one stone :)

I had fun today,

Welded a small hole in the front of the chassis, near the G Box X member.
Fixed the G Box X member back on, after having to remove it 2 weeks ago to fit the decat pipe, PO had welded it inot place, now bolted properly.
Bled the Clutch, due to it having a judder on pick up, will evaluate over a few days. Damn thing did not want to bleed normally ,had to be revers bled.
Checked the Hi lo switch, as it was not switching, found the connector very loose, reconnected and still not working, may need a good clean with electrical cleanr, will remove switch to see if it is broken.
Removed a broken bolt from the sump tray, which snaped at much too low torque, so had to drill it and use an extractor.

Now , will plan the next list of things to do.

Cheers

A good day then, not too trying.

Nah,

I would like to meet whoever designed the X member bolts and then who welded them up............Idjits the pair of them.
The clutch bleeding was a PITA, kept getting air in there, even using the one man system and then getting another person to press the pedal. Revers bleeding was the only way to it working, will park it tomorrow on my steep drive and leave it with the pedal pushed down a for a few hours and then try bleeding it again. Just for fun....:D

While I remove the hi lo switch..................and test it.

Cheers

That would mean that the "Hi-Lo" switch and the "Diff Lock" switch are the same. So why the different part number and more to the point the different prices? A genuine diff lock switch is about 30 quid.

Tis a LR............I have no idea..............:D.................. will remove it in the AM and see what it looks like............... watch this space......

Cheers

Yesterday I picked up my new Disco and managed to get it mot'd on my way home, unsurprisingly it failed but only on a couple of things.
Picked up a few bits from craddocks this morning and set about it :D

Changed the timing belt, lift pump, air and fuel filters also gave it a vacuuming and wipe down on the inside.
I was really pleased with myself until I started it not realising I'd left the oil cooler pipe off:oops:

At least the drive won't go rusty for a while :(

Wheel bearings tomorrow which is one of the things needed for its mot and then give it a good jet wash. Also picked up half an engine tomorrow evening so I can swap the sump as it's weeping.

I'll report back tomorrow :p
