got some large cardboard boxes in preparation of getting the headlining out

going to start removing all the A - B - C - D side panels and fixings , then store them out of the way so they don't get marked

Thanks for the replys... it looks like I'll have to do the following then...
  1. Remove the rear wheel
  2. Slacken off new wishbone thing
  3. Use a trolley jack to jack hub up to 485 is achieved
  4. Then tighten bolts back up nice and tight
  5. Re fit wheel?
How does that sound? I'm assuming 485mm is the distance when the disco is in "normal ride height"?

Thanks again

Thank you. I've had a good look through it and I think I'll do as laid out in my above post ^^^ losen it all off and measure it up.

Today I replaced the rotten coolant pipes in the rotten weather lol
Strong winds and rain wasn't good.
All seems good again.Happy.

Just finished checking my rear suspension bushes. After replacing the drivers side rear a few weeks back I had forgotten to check the hub was the correct distance away from the top of the wheel arch and this had resulted in the bushs having a twist in them. After slackening them all off and levelling the vehicle correctly (485mm from centre of wheel hub to top of arch) the rubbers are no longer twisted and fingers crossed it will improve thier life span.

great it worked out :D:D

I could literally see the bushes intwist!

Could you prehaps point me in the direction of the best place to buy a IID tool?

Nothing it far too early in the day, may take it down the pub to give it a run which is a 50mile round trip, but then could go by train. :)

It was last night, but close enough. Lol

Replaced the rear anti roll bar bushes. The knock was getting a bit loud. What a pain in the bum getting them back in though! Especially when you're getting a good face dusting of rust off the join in the exhaust.

In the past month I've also changed:
Discs and Pads all round
Front Prop Shaft
Front and Rear Wipers
Full Service (all filters and fluids)
Drop Links all round
Power Steering Pipes (B'Stard of a job)
New 800 CA Battery

Dash lights to sort next and whatever it needs to keep them off. Then I might be able to buy some luxury items like tyres, an HD bumper and a light bar. But I'm something else will take priority.

Changed oil and filters. Should have been simple but the last oil change was done at a National Tyres branch - special offer. The sump plug was ridiculously tight and in the end I had to get a blow torch and breaker bar to get it off. It was mangled a bit so got a new one and washer. The old one had no washer, so perhaps the fitter had used a lot of torque to compensate rather than source a washer!
The air and fuel fiters were really simple, except it then led to a problem with air suspension compressor.
The fuel filter had no sensor on the bottom and the britpart replacement seemed to have its own sedimenter but neither old nor new had a connector. Does the Britpart fuel filter have its own sedimenter?
