Ordered a new Powerline C31-1000 (120 Ah/1000 CCA) battery from Tayna. It's being delivered in the morning (overnight) and will be fitted as soon as the predicted rain stops.

I think that is the same as mine, cost was about £90 delivered. One thing is , You may find the battery does not sit completely in the battery pocket. Battery shape is a little different to the one I took ot , bottom section is not relieved. I took a dremel to the bottom of the battery box and ground out using a miniature sanding wheel 4 little squares at each corner , only took 5 minutes.

Cheers

must admit i'm a favourite of the varta batteries

surprising how far batteries have advanced in the last 10 x years

Bored last night so jacked front and rear up and took all four wheels off. Then preassure washed all the mud and crap off the axles, from around the disks behind the bumper etc. I was totally amazed how much here was! It very rarely goes of road if at all but the crud that came off was amazing!!!

Would suggest you all do it!

having just got my disco 2 :):) I've started to do the list of jobs ,,,,,,,biggest being rear door central locking unit ,,dash bulbs ,so first job clock back light bulb ,,,done so new to disco 2 landmark ownership ,but also doing a rebuild thread over in the defender section ,,,,so 2 landy ownership puts me in the garage most weekends lol :rolleyes:

Wha'ts the reason for replacing the air tank, is it leaking?

yes , it's the only thing that it can be , checked everything else

takes about 3 x days to drop , so going to finally finish it once and for all

then won't have to worry about it

will take some pics, so it may help others along the way

was amazed when i took the front wheel arch liner out how much was there, at the front of the wheel arch was a collection of mud and leaves

think some mudflaps will prevent that

Quick once over this morning ahead of taking it off road tomorrow... if it stops raining this afternoon i want to look at starting to wire in some more of the lights.

Had a half hour fight with the rear door this morning, poxy thing!
Eventually got in and coated the gummed up lock mechanism in wd40.

Anyone got a spare rear latch part for the boot door of a 300tdi Discovery that I can have to make a replacement?
Also still after a passenger central locking solenoid if anyone has one of them too :)

Not sure why you need a replacement - if its just gummed up with old grease and crap, cleaning it up properly, lubricating it, and gettting in the habit of checking on it from time to time should solve the problem.

Hmm true. I have very limited time at home so we more along the lines of having one off the car I can strip and rebuild over time then simply swap over once it's done

Didn't realise you could rebuild them
Yes you can ! you need to break the cover apart & inside you will find a motor & a ratchet bar ! it will only be the Brushes in the motor that are cracked but you can't buy them separate:mad: so you have to buy a new motor  £1.50ish of flee bay ! you have to check that you have solderer the wires on the right way round or it dunt work (ask me how i know:rolleyes:) Tape it back together & away you go! Simples
