He said he sneezed, the sun was low in his eyes. Either way, it was not the hardest of knocks, but his impact zones did what they were meant to I suppose, squished themselves like a squishy thing. LOL. I was stopped for a good 20 secs waiting for a gap.

makes no difference, the obligation is on you to tell your insurance company.
A lot of people don't bother but if he's going through his insurance there's every likelihood they will want details of the other person involved. Requirement of the Road Traffic Act to supply at the very least you're details and regd mk of the vehicle.
 
You are also supposed to tell them of any modifications such as having a towball mounted, due to the damage they cause even though it's the following drivers fault.

I suppose he should tell them about the mod, A strange mod though, fitting a tow ball already attached to a D2 onto the front of your VW passat.

I installed the TF drag link and track rod since my steering was sloppy from worn tie rod ends.
Took Myrtle to get an alignment for £42. Now the steering is spot on, handles great and for an extremely good price.

Changed the rear NS wheel hub bearing.

All nice and easy, except the splash shield bolts were stuck fast.....:(

I am wondering if this may have been an original bearing that was starting to rumble, if it was it lasted very well, 172K.

While dodging the showers i changed the fuel pressure regulator and associated o rings and gaskets,what a horrible job...
Tomorrow I am heading into the head to change injector seals and o rings due to a raised oil level in the sump.

Was the fuel pressure regulator leaking badly?
 
no it wasn't leaking but a decision i made after the hose from the regulator to the front corner of the engine decided to leak and empty the tank.

Thanks. Mine has the odd drip coming from it. As long as it isn't somehow getting into the bellhousing I will leave it. Not a job I fancy doing unless absolutely necessary.
 
Not an easy job by any means. Taking it off is easy. Getting the block back on with gasket is a . Torqueing it up wasn’t easy either.
Just remember to take a photo before you start.
Prepare yourself by watching you tube and it won’t be such a bad job. You will get the minor details, but will need small hands.

Some time the clutch is going to need changing. If there is evidence of diesel then that might be the best time to tackle it.
