Got damp on the ns roof liner under the visor so removed the roof rail inserts and the top windscreen trim and side pieces. Lots of rubbish and dirt under that lot so all cleaned up and dried out before resealing.pic after it was all cleaned up and before resealing.

That sounds like what we need to do with Otto. Read the windscreen finisher is a pain. Lift it slightly and slide the clips to the left side with something like a credit card I believe, while praying the clips don't break. We've got some demon double sided tape we plan to stick some wood or plastic to it with as a brace for removing and replacing.

Credit card wasn't man enough. I used a thin blade 2" wide paint scraper. Pull the top edge forward a tad, use a torch, even in day light, and you will see white blocks around an inch long. Move those blocks sideways towards the nearside. Didn't break any clips, not until I ran the trim over anyway, busted two on that occasion.

The roof rails were harder to get off than the windscreen trim for me.
You need to take the side windscreen trims off too before attacking the top trim, 4 screws each side under a rubber flap, door open.
If you look at the rails on top there are sliding apertures which have an arrow on them. Depress the insert and slide them in the direction of the arrow. This is supposed to give you a finger hold to pull them up but mine were stuck fast, whether it was all the muck holding them tight or I'm too weedy or it's just not the best way I dunno. Open the tailgate and you will see a short return of rail, lift there then using two scrapers with suitable protection for the paintwork, insert them and prise up evenly, don't be tempted to just prise one side, both sides evenly or you may break something.
Once it's started it's easy, they are plastic coated aluminium as are the top and bottom windscreen trims so can kink.
So, in summary, external windscreen uprights off first, 8 screws total. These don't appear to come completely off being attached to rubber running across the top of the door aperture but they can be hung somewhere in the door opening out of the way. You can't shut the doors when they are off without crushing them which is why I did the job yesterday when it was forecast dry. They can be popped back on and secured with one screw though if you do need to close a door or drive it.
Then top trim then roof rails.

Pulled a Travis Perkins delivery truck out of a muddy hole he had made for himself. He said "I don't think you'll be able to pull this. It is well and truly stuck". Well, nothing to be lost by giving it a go. Low in first and dragged the sucker straight out, helped no doubt by my somewhat chunky tyres. Thanked me and said he couldn't believe a Range Rover could do it and now he had to cancel the recovery crew. I should have charged them (TP)!
 
I turned the inside of my front doors into a 90's dance music video.

Door handle cable broke the other day, but little did the car know that I was planning on removing the door car to replace the door mirror and the speakers in the front doors anyway, so... Huzzah! it's little tantrum caused me no actual bother.
Just wish the bloody delivery driver would turn up with the mirror so I can refit the door car and test out my new speakers now.

Looks like foil bubble wrap thermal insulation, like for behind radiators in houses.
It does a bit doesn't it? But I assure you that it's a bit more engineered than that.


It has really transformed the sound bringing a lot more bass forwards in the cabin. I didn't try it with just the new speakers so I can't say for sure how much difference the deadening has made of course. I had it leftover over from my C43 upgrades a couple of years ago and it was just taking up space in the cupboard.
 
Replaced a rear indicator with one off the scrapper. This is the first bulb failure I have ever had and looking at how the orange has peeled off the bulb I think they've done pretty well. They're certainly over 12 years old, possibly 20!
