A special day today in France, not because it's Bastille day but because I washed a P38 :) This normally only happens once a year just before the MOT or going on holiday. This year the pollen from Colza (oil seed rape) was so thick on the car aided by showers of rain that I had no choice but to clean it.

So it's come to this and serious about it... But.... The eas is starting to wind me up.
All heights set in good fashion and relate to their respective boundaries.
A good powerfull pump,
A rebuilt block with no leaks,
Three driver packs tried, (2 repaired and one in original state).
No faults,
Recent sensors,
No leaking anywhere on the car!!!
So, at motorway height the front lifts and drop considerably,
At normal height the rear lifts and drops considerably.
Maybe one trip out in ten it's settled but now it's starting to grate on me to the point where I've pulled the relay. For over a week it's sat at the same height it was when I pulled the relay and hasn't budged..
It's been a relief not to hear the pump killing itself every 5 seconds.. A 300€ pump wearing out and I'm nearly done with it.
So... Even though it's at a slightly higher position than normal height and along with the terra shocks it's still really stable on the road.. Even on the motorway... I may rip the system out and go for springs... Yes I know, sacrilege... But I am fed up of the stupidity and to the best of my efforts I'm fed up with it. Calibration after calibration.... One in ten times it's settled and most of time it's starting to ruin the time I spend in it 🤬

Is it going out of range because set too high?

An isolation switch sounds good but wouldn't it give the dreaded 35 mph max message?

I replaced the coolant reservoir on my car this weekend. The old one was filthy, I'm hoping it was due to a previous failure and not a current issue. The coolant looks good and clean so (for now) I've just replaced the bottle. Time will tell as to whether I have another issue but as the oil level is staying constant as is the coolant, I don't think I have a mixing issue and there's certainly no milkshake in there.

Looks much better too, I like to be able to see at a glance what the fluid looks like as well as the level which was really tricky before. New PAS reservoir is also in the garage in preparation for that flush in a week or two.

A good question, couldn't say at this point but within specs.
I did also question the shocks being a little too stiff. The terras are more resistant but it sits perfectly with out issues 🙄
Mine does hunt up & down at the rear a bit, so was checking it yesterday. Left-Right all have matching targets, but I did a test on the rear sitting with some blocks between the bump stops & axle (not proper check, but didn't have any dowels to hand). The rear left sensor seems to always read higher than the right at all heights, even though the targets are matching ?

I suspect the sensor arm might need a slight bend on one side to get them equal. My driveway is not level enough to use the measuring stick method, so planning to cut a broom up to sit it on the axles properly. I can get the car roughly level using axle stands & take the wheels off which will make access easier.

New alternator on, its back too normal looks like it had a cheepo at somepoint,
Quite easy job actually
That's a +1 for the Supercharged then, the TDV8 is PITA to do an alternator on. Perhaps I should have an SC...

Its down by front below exhaust manifold for right bank, same as a tdv8 sport, Fan off. Shroud off, belts off, idler off, 13mm at the top, 13mm spanner at the side for live wire, 2 13mm at the bottom just access with a uj and extension from front wheel arch and lift out towards radiator and up,
Took about 90mins at a chilled pace,

Been off here for a while. We've done a few runs in him over the last couple of months, eas seems to have settled down but Speedo still out in the mid range.
Just put his trickle charger back on after a week boosting other toys, and emptied the dehumidifier.
Played with the nanocom and managed to turn off the immobilizer and turn on the computer.
Cruise control still not playing though.

Have another play and turn off EKA if you haven't done it already.
Is the speedo over or under reading in mid range?

Finally got around to mucking about with the CCF. I'm pretty sure the dealer i bought from had dicked about with it.. so many options were 'undefined' like heated seats, multi cd player etc etc
I've told it that the factory fitted tow bar is actually fitted and adjusted the mpg-ometer so maybe it will be useful.
Didn't mess with anything else, though noticed it's set to 'with dpf' which didn't sound right

Plugged trailer electrics in and still got the parking sensors howling :(
Must try harder

Had that on all of them. I've yet to work out the trick to getting them the turn off when the trailer is connected as the coding seems to make no difference at all. I know you can press the button and turn off the PDC but when you're not that skilled (like me) and you have to do a couple of shunts, it's annoying to have to keep turning them off.
