I did them back up to, a squidge over 100ftlb.. book says 103 but wrench only goes up to 100.. close enough.. i can do that result with the wrench which is less than half the length of my breaker bar. 140nm i think.
Don't know but gut says ~500lbft.. that's getting on for 680nm
Yeah, that is far too tight, it's a wonder it hadn't damaged the wheels let alone the nuts.:rolleyes:
 
Had the radio on today.. don't normally bother!! Decided the subwoofer isn't working, i wonder if there's a fuse for it? Will have a look tomorrow

Regen demanded 818, successful 154, is that ok? Soot level is still showing 12g. Weird it never changes

I wouldn’t worry about the numbers too much as it might be one of those things where the software reads it weirdly or that it’s a reading that is fairly pointless.

In theory it regens little by little as you go along it will never go back to empty. If you did a super long drive you might get it to go more as it would probably do multiple regen cycles but ultimately it will really only try to blast a lot out at once when it’s really full and you have to remember the dpf job is to bring emissions down so can’t be dumping all that captured stuff in huge amounts in one go as that defeats the object and is polluting just as much.

Emissions during dpf regen aren't counted in the official figures, so it can be as dirty as it likes, nobody cares ;)

What i don't want is a knackered dpf that can't get below some threshold so the engine is constantly injecting extra fuel trying to do the impossible
 
Best park it up, that way the DPF will say clean, then get a car that doesn't need a DPF before you have a nervous breakdown.
But that wouldn't be any fun! A land rover that isn't broken.. is.. er.. broken!! 'D
Bugger about till you break something, then you can spend weeks fixing it!!!

In theory it’s still polluting just as much just over a wider area. Don’t even get me started on that ad-blue stuff.

Ad Blue with SCR does actually seem to achieve a reduction in pollution.

You cannot escape the fact that DPF's increase fuel consumption, using more fuel equals more pollution just as cats increased the fuel consumption of petrol cars.
 
Gave mine a quick clean then took my Son to east Lancs railway again for a Thomas the tank event, on most bank holidays but first he’s been too and ideal as it’s his 3rd birthday. Then called in at bury transport museum, only small but plenty ther then got talking to another Rangie owner, stood talking about half a hour putting the world to rights about how much stick Range rovers get yet in my experience and his they have been more reliable than other makes.

Agreed. My 1999 Yamaha 125 does 110mpg but would get clobbered for emission zones, my 85mpg Honda 500 wouldn't. And my 1979 40ish mpg Guzzi is historic class, so would be fine in there. Just mental.

ULEZ is even barmier, a brand new Bentely Bentaga with a 6mpg W 12 engine can roam London unhindered, my P38 that averages 24mpg on diesel would be hammered. A mileage allowance based on fuel consumption would be fairer. But of course it has nothing to do with pollution, it's all about tax collection.
 
Got my directors chair out this morning and helped my brilliant neighbour change the rear discs , calipers and carriers. Those 12 point carrier studs are a pitta . 3 of the 4 needed the use of the special sockets for removing rounded nuts and bolts. Fortunately as per experience I had bought all new studs, banjo connections etc. Any with the proper direction the job was done and now all new brakes on the back.
Cost in labour 1 case of Fosters as he won't take cash off me. The guy is a top man:):vb-angel1::vb-angel::vb-angel2:
