In the immortal words of Jeremy Clarkson “ I did a thing!” Fitted the new solenoid and drove round the block on gas had the adjust the map sensor pipes for it as they were the wrong way round.

In sad news found the oil leak, drivers side rocker cover is actually loose as I can give it a slight rock and hear it hit off the slightly loose bolts can see where the to oil has worked it’s way up the threads aswell showing it’s loose. Only problem is all the lpg stuff on the top of the engine is massively in the way of getting the intake off to try and tighten on both sides of the rocker maybe once I get some 12 point sockets it would be enough on the outside of the rocker cover.

Managed to find an angled 12 point spanner of my brothers which meant I was able to get the one corner nipped up but can’t fit it in on the bolt by the brake reservoir as all the pipes and such are in the way.

Edit: found a smaller length spanner and managed to get the bolt closest to the bulkhead nipped up. Maybe I’ll be lucky and the ones under the intake aren’t loose but time will tell. Can’t give it a slight rock anymore and hear it hit the bolts so maybe I’m lucky.

Just took it a 15 mile ride on the gas and the fuel light on the the gas button went down so presumably it is definitely running on gas, really put my foot down including in sports mode and it pulled really well. Very very small gas leak under the bonnet if my nose is right which it’s a big bloody nose so it ought to be it’s from the bolt that goes through the solenoid I replaced, I reckon the o ring needs replacing so gonna pick up a set of o rings tomorrow and hopefully find the right size, might stick some ptfe on the threads too just to be sure.

They were grey feathers so hopefully just some random and not very intelligent pigeon!
They are pretty dopey birds. Nearly collected one a few years back on the M1. Explosion of feathers from the van in front hitting it, I dodged the carcass that rolled straight over the top and tumbled off the back.

That reminds me of when my brother in law used to drive the lorries, he said a seagull flew into the top of his wagon and tumbled right into the convertible next to him that had its roof down, blood and feather everywhere all over the chap apparently.

Oh dear not good. I reckon the tc seal is weeping on mine as I’ve noticed a touch of dex 3 dripping from the bottom of the bell housing where it meets the engine. Might have a oil leak on the engine too done my best to clean up but can’t tell if old oil from when the rocker cover was leaking on @kermit_rr just getting heated up and dribbling down or wether it is indeed leaking again. Might also be leaking from the crankshaft/timing cover seal as there is a bit at the front that seems to be coming from roughly that area. Watched a video on replacing those seals the other night seems a bit involved but doesn’t seem like it’s a particular hard job for the timing case seals.

The tc seal on the other hand I’ve got no way of getting the gearbox off so that will be a costly job for the sake of a few quid bit of rubber.

While I’m talking about gearbox a quick update after topping up the fluid the second time the previous weekend it’s running a lot smoother, used to get a good judder probably the wrong description as it wasn’t exactly a judder but it wasn’t what you would call a bang either right when it changed from 1st to 2nd now that is barely there really I only notice it because I knew it had it before otherwise if anyone drove it they wouldn’t know about it’s become that slight.
First place I would check (if possible, I can't get to them on Otto with the GEMS intakes, let alone a Thor with LPG) would be to check the valley gasket bolts. They were the only easy ones when we did the top end on Otto. Both were barely finger tight, instead of 13lb/ft, so made sure to torque / leave to settle overnight / retorque on them when we buttoned him back up. That will give a slight to extensive oil leak down front and back covers where it loosens.

To be fair I found the two outer drivers side rocker cover bolts loose managed to get a spanner on them as I don't own any 12 pt sockets so need to order some so maybe its all from that as some was definitely coming out from the gasket and slight out of the bolt holes, though no idea if the inner ones are loose to not looking forward to having to take all the lpg stuff off just to bloody get the inlet off to check. though from what little I can see it might actually be dry on that side so they might be alright.

Got the new silencers degreased and first coat of high temp silver applied. give it a good drying time, second coat Sunday I reckon, seeing as the moving boxes we ordered have not been delivered yet.

Undoing the tight nuts  on the other side of my landy.. one was so, the crack loose shuddered through to my jaw, clattered my teeth together with gusto!! thought something had sheared
Must have really upset the dealer :(

Went to take her to fill up on the lpg, one place was closed and the other place only do gas bottles now. There is another local place that supposedly does it but need to ring them before hand so might give them a ring in a bit to see if they at least still do it.

You must have really done something to upset them.

Apart from paying extra for tyres, so i got a matching set rather than a mismatch using the cheapest ditchfinders he could find, I've no clue what

FFS the last one needed a tube on the 3' bar :| that's buggered me up!! I'll try the last wheel another time

They must have been circa 400nm, I can undo 120nm with one of them telescopic wheelbraces without too much
straining.
I did them back up to, a squidge over 100ftlb.. book says 103 but wrench only goes up to 100.. close enough.. i can do that result with the wrench which is less than half the length of my breaker bar. 140nm i think.
Don't know but gut says ~500lbft.. that's getting on for 680nm
