if i blow the wrong way through it.. i can get a small flow. if i blow the right way (as marked) have to give real gusto to get the tiniest amount through!! hmmm...

I don't wanna talk about it....
Scrubbing black mold off my interior as it looks like Bix might be saying farewell soon and we neer a car. Although I am golden in the regard of no actual damage under it all and she's shining up nicely. She's a good girl really :)

Maybe it is to provide back pressure for the fine misting effect? o_O

The O/S/F one on mine packed up the other day, I didn't realise it had a one way valve in it but I put 100PSI on it from my compressor and nothing came through. Tried to order from LR to be told they were on back order, bought a genuine BMW one on the internet and when it arrived I tried to blow through. Couldn't.

Figured I'd plug the washer hose on and see what happened, I got squirted int he face and chest. New one works just fine then!

found a connector that wasn't pushed all the way home on the glowplug loom.. maybe thats been my issue.. didnt notice the light come on this morning though, so who knows, but it wasnt a lumpy/smoky start either
found out that glow plugs are required for a healthy dpf too, apparently they are used during an active regen when extra diesel is injected to heat up the dpf, so i do need them working!
definitely no glow plug related error codes

Just filled up, 22.5mpg over 259.3 miles. Thought it would have been a bit higher than that.. maybe i need to check the air filters

That is about Otto territory for long steady motorway cruise about 60ish. and about 50% better than on mixed running when he was our everyday for a month.
Long term brim to brim average on my P38 diesel is 24mpg mostly 30km runs, it gets close to 30mpg on long autoroute runs sticking to 110kmh

Yeah but he's driving that fancy new TDV8. Probably in the same ball-park except on motorways when the extra gears probably give it the edge.
