World wide here have been hundreds of cases from BEV's to bicycles spontaneously combusting. If you think BEV's are less polluting you need to do some research. Li Ion batteries are unstable, even a huge cargo ship was sunk recently when the BEV's it was carrying caught fire.
IMO the problem is not cars or fossil fuels, it's over population.

Overpopulation a massive issue but they didn't want to offend the catholics or Muslims so they all pretended it wasn't an issue.

Lithium cells are prone to runaway heating and fire. There are developments in the pipeline to fix it (hydrogel stuff) but the modern ones in cars are way better than the old ones. I think Guy Martin covered this in his EV programme.

Tightened all hose clamps in my engine bay. I was surprised how loose some felt.

Had a quick glance underneath and I am still undecided where that oil is coming from. Possibly the join with the sump and front cover.
 
Had a fun one yesterday, blew fuse 14 whilst towing and needed fuel.
Fuse 14 not only does towbar but also fuel flap !
No fuses for sale at garage but thankfully had spares nestling in the fuse box so didn’t have to resort to trying to work the manual release

with 32s (which is pushing it a bit inside standard arches) is about 2mph @30 gets more as speed increases maybe 4 mph at 70, on the autobahn would increase more again every sort of 10mph gets further out. So long as you take your time you should be fine I’ve never had an issue. With the arch liners I had to adjust the stops on the hub slightly to stop you turning too far and rubbing (usually rusted solid) still catches the radius arm now and again but only if turning sharp in reverse for some reason, once they wore down a bit was not such an issue. Can handle nose compression and steering angle but not too much of both at once if that makes sense? Body lift should help that
Thanks DT, You’re right, 235/85 which is apparently 31.7”. So I probably made a mistake calculating the speed difference, which is comforting. However, I am having issues with the arch liners. Did you use spacers on yours?

No spacers on mine sit flush with vehicle. I wouldn’t want spacers with the weight of the tyres.
Mine are 31.6 x 10.4 which is a tad too wide ideally but manageable
Yours work out at 31.7 x 9.3 so I’m guessing it’s fact I have coils (shhh;)) so constant lift. ??
No motorway height for me.....


My tyres wouldn’t fit :eek::D

I'd imagine yours are only an issue at full lock or when reversing? You could adjust the lock-stops but obviously you'll lose a bit of turning circle. Can you see where it rubs the liner and fabricate something out of aluminium sheet with a bit more clearance where it rubs? Cardboard aided design might help.

Ah. Coils. that will make a big difference. Mine grate the liners at about 20 to 30 deg, when the diagonal between the inside front edge and outer rear edge create the maximum diameter and snag the liner. At full lock they are ok.

The lift and bigger wheels were fitted all together as a set from a gonner p38. Any bigger tyre the lift wouldn’t have been enough. Over the years it’s sagged a bit similar new tyres probably wouldn’t fit anymore.
I know the bit of liner you mean wonder how they would react to heat gun adjustment? Plenty of room behind them just need to be in more an inch
By the way check your OE jack in the boot still works, mine didn’t but I can’t lower the suspension.

So how do you manage with EAS? You got giant bumpstops preventing too low a setting? Or hoping it doesn’t beep, drop and rip your wings off as they pop :eek:?

Cheers. EAS currently not working. Relying on a manual bypass system. However, yes, the kit comes with new bump stops for just that eventuality, however, I am far from convinced they are sufficient as when i reconnected the eas module recently it dropped to the bump stops but the tyres fouled the liners.

All it needs is longer bokts and a solid block as a spacer. Easy enough to sort.
