As suspected battery buggered. Well it is 4 years old and doesn't have the typical battery lifecycle. It gets hammered in the winter with cold starts in Russia but as the beast has always started first time it fairs quite well just takes extra herbs at minus temps. So with that you always need a good run after starting, non of this about town stop start just nipping to the local shops (well that's just my excuse for going for a drive) or you are then in the RR's other natural element and we all know what that is without saying it so hopefully not cursing oneself or others.
It is then sat disconnected for 8- 9 months and sometimes longer and the last 2 years has needed a jump assist for the first start after sitting and then has been good for the winter. However, the last two weeks has needed more assistance so tried to give it a recondition but no joy, all the good herbs have been used. So yet another Christmas pressie to the beast along with the new rear airbags if they finally manage to arrive as they have been dancing around the postal system for sometime now. They have made it to Russia and now busy touring all the post centres and customs houses in Moscow. However, they have finally been released into the general population today so all things crossed maybe I will get them this week.

Its tough decision to make albeit fun. All i will say is having owned both and currently a beautiful Shadow 2 currently you will need at least a 10k emergency reserve fund mate in place just in case. Since owning my Shadow 2 i have put 10k in to her just to make her perfect and 100% reliable and in the last 3 years she has had 27k spent on her and it shows and i have all the invoices too. She might be for sale along with my Mint Rover P5B too as we are planning on a down sizing move to Plymouth, buy an apartment and an RV and go travelling. If you need any advice at all about Rolls/Bentley ownership then i am more than happy to help you and advise you on what to look for and avoid.
I'd be tempted to take you up on that!

Just need £20k lol

Just cleaned the old beast up, for once it was dirty ;)

Looks alright ;)

Drove her. My mpg has dropped something silly since moving to my hill. The up hill and down dale, constantly working hard has dropped mpg to 18.3mpg. Still no-one buys a Range Rover for mpg ;) :D
Averages about the same as my V8 ;)

what did she have done? ;)

Good drive today, desired a couple of plug leads, still not perfect. Is it coincidence it starts running badly at the same time the alternator goes pop?
Might put new plugs in, the tips don't look old but no idea how old they are!! Bosch are cheap enough, any good?

Swapped the FBH out and still no joy, looks like either the fuel pump or the FBH isn't telling it to come on. At least the only error I have now is no flame detected so getting closer.
Why has there always got to be more than one thing faulty

What are you using for diagnostics?

Cheers

Yes but I'm not getting any fuel delivered to the FBH so I think the pump is either faulty or needs priming. According to the manual the Hawkeye does actuators for the FBH so hoping someone can confirm please.

Ummmm loads of bits n bobs, plus in dash display repaired, binnacle pixels repaired, rear wipe wash fixed, steering rack 'clunk' fixed, new windscreen. I'm sure there are other bits but would have to go find receipt. The big hold up was the guys doing the pixels.
Oh and MoT passed. With advisory for wing mirror .
She's going back next month as they forgot to change the CD multi-changer download.png
