Starting to think my steering damper might be on the way out, she has become a handful to handle when going over rough road surfaces. Lane 1 on most motorways is also a nightmare when I hit the grooves caused by HGVs. Used to be a really relaxed drive, now I can't let my guard down.

Replaced exhaust manifold gaskets and down pipe gasket still blowing found out its from the middle bit that moves the one I got from eBay had a crack in it so I put my original back on got another one coming next week so will be changing again next wkend at least I know I should be able to get all the bolts out this time

Try waggling the ball joints on the drag link to see if any play there.

Or left it where it was.;)

Bought different bonnet, top and bottom tailgate to replace the not so good items on mine.200 miles ran like a dream.its nicer to drive than any other car I have ever driven. But then again I am biased (on my 6th one now)

Drove up the M1/A1 to Catterick and that vibration is a pain. Also was left wondering....... why is so much of that road restricted to 60mph, with alternate 50mph bits. The weather wasn't that bad, nor was the traffic. I was in Yorkshire before I got above 60mph.

It's a cash generator Goldie.

You're the second person to give me that as answer to it, but they can't make much,.99.9% of vehicles seemed to be within the set limits. Which did surprise me , considering it went on for over 100 miles

It does my f*cking head in. A journey that used to take a few hours now takes MUCH longer. I usually put the cruise control on and try not to doze off.

That was the worst part of it. I'm not bothered about heavy right foot driving BUT in constant 50mph, it takes more concentration not to drop off, thus impacting on the safety factor.
I actually had to stop more frequently than usual for a drive of that distance. Then they have the cheek to stick up 'tiredness kills' signs. So does bloody boredom. Actually just writing this, I wonder if they're making money taking back handers from service area owners, who are making money from bored/tired drivers having to stop more often

A busy two days, fitted replacement bonnet yesterday and a replacement upper tailgate today.and hopefully a replacement lower tailgate tomorrow.

Took it for an MOT - two rusty brake pipes at the back (give 'em a wire brushing an' paint 'em black sir "wink" ) and a failed down pipe to centre section exhaust gasket.

And thats that. Momentary gormlessness found me saying are you sure and is that it.:(

As I steadied myself on the doorframe blokie cheerfully said I had eleven days to put it right for a no charge retest.

Have had a quick look in the old parts manual and there isn't a gasket listed or shown.

Hmmm, best scroll back and watch Saints vid.

No gasket so I'll just (probably) end up angle grinding the bolts off and doing a little investigation.

Went to work in it with two pest controlled dogs and got thouroughly wet and dirty but other than that ok.
