So, fitted the new Lemforder track rod and did the tracking this afternoon. Joints are bigger on the new track rod and the gaiters are much better. No idea of the make of the last one as it came with the car, but as it failed so quickly I would guess it's ****part.
Also did the N/S brake calliper, I will recondition the old ones as and when. The replacements are ****part, the castings are much rougher than the original but they look OK, however the the blocks that stop the sliders turning when tightening the bolts are ineffective so a spanner was needed on the slider to hold it.

That's how I do it but you have to re-size the pictures or it doesn't work.
 
Fitted new rear lower tailgate straps, old ones were rusting out, wired up my wipacs on my A bar, won some 19s on the bay, needed new tyres and it worked out cheaper buying alloys with good tyres than buying tyres alone.
 
Wife's hoggin' the laptop, not going to disturb her it's the only peace I get! I'll try again later, can't do it from my phone.

Don't think you should Fit 19's on a 38, 16's and 18's only I believe.:rolleyes:
 
I polished mine. To give you a taster to what I've done here are some pictures.

I have plenty of these type of scratches on the body so I decided to go back up to a flawless body by doing some work.

This is what the scratch looked under the microscope.

Just a simple orbital polisher with a sponge (not a dual action yet).

As per compounds I found that Meguiar's Ultimate Compound removed most of the swirls. The G3 and Autoglym Paint Restorer was not up to the job and put marks back in!

The polishing pad was too soft too since its made out of sponge. Next time I will get some cutting foam ones to go over the car some more. The swirls are gone but I want to level the clear coat for that mirror finish.
 
Fitting a heavy duty wheel carrier!!! Nightmare getting around a bodged job!!! I'll move the spare from the hallway tomorrow

Same thing I used you need the white pads from tool station the red are for final polishing

We don't have TUV-like type-approval laws in the UK so you can run any sized wheels you like on your car - however it is obviously considered to be a modification and the insurance company must be informed.

In the event of certain types of accident, it could be argued that incorrect wheels contributed to loss of control.
