Well - not exactly, the oil that marine engines use is much cruder than DERV (diesel engined road vehicles) it's thick, waxy and similar to brown mud, filthy stuff.
Not for much longer, ferries have already been converted to light oil and cargo ships are set to follow under new legislation.

Well as much as I would like to take the credit for it, was a close friend who painted this one, I could of, and it would of looked good enough to retail, but this one is a keeper so it was rolled down the yard to him, he's put a few extra coats of clear on her so I can take the next week to block ever last inch to perfection, and then Ill be on with building the beast, I like to do my projects fully, from start to finish, but with the paint, there's no other than this guy he's **** hot, so he gets stripped parts from me, lays the colour and then back to me. I'm in leeds so if anyone needs anything painting PM me and I will send his number .is there somewhere I can post a build thread?

Start you own thread, i'm sure it will be a popular one, sounds like you want to try some out of the "norm" stuff which will carry some interest for us all in landyland

Well not today but Monday. I DROVE HER! Seven months after an injector fault and a world of pain , my baby came home. So off I went happy as a pig in muck. Only to be assisted on my way home by the AA :-(
A new alternator is now winging it's way to me. All I have to do is search this forum of magic and knowledge for how to change it and hopefully my world of pain can return to a normal RR ache ;)

So all I can say is , hi guys I'm back , hope you're all well :D

alternator is an easy change. 30mins maybe..

remove battery positive.. remove belt, remove alternator (undoing the connections on the back), reinstall is the reverse.

check the condition of the belts while you are at it..

I hope you are going to be disconnecting negative lead from battery before you start disconnecting positive from alternator. :D:D

i find licking the terminals while barefoot gets rid of any residual charge

If you don't disconnet the battery negative before playing with the alternator you will have a lot more than a residual charge if the power wire from the alternator touches ground. :D:D
