Hi all, I can report all is back to normal, filled the tank and taken for a drive. Three stop and start procedures later the engine light has extinguished and full revs are available once more. That said I’m still going to sit down to trawl LZ and the wider web for answers. I had the 1980 Daimler fuel transfer valve issue on a past car but that was a simple fix, changed the valve. Not sure my SC will be so simple.
Tricky:)
Ahh mine was a 1996 X305 so had no twin tanks, just one massive 20gal one that lasted around 200mi if you used the loud pedal! ;)

Well done buddy. Keep the tank above 1/2 from now on to be safe.

Don't you mean a X300 mate if it was a 1996?? X308 was the 1997 V8 and then the X305 was the all alloy one 2003 onwards. Lovely cars were the X300 straight 6 Jags. Started with an XJ40 Daimler which was lovely car, then had a 97 XJR6 for a couple of years then had a 2001 Daimler Super V8 which was just sublime. Never got to the last of the line model XJ sadly. Would have loved a late squared off bumper model 2008 ish Super Eight. Sooo rare now. Not many made.

X305 was code for the XJ12, x306 was the XJR and the LWB was the X330 the standard cars were code named X300

The Allycats were the XJ350/58 a XJR or Super V8 will be replacing my P38.

Mine was a very late 1995 December 11th build IIRC

Good selection of beautiful motors. I came within minutes of buying a Super V8 but Mrs Tricky said if it has to be an old car it has to be the Range Rover Supercharged or don’t bother bringing it home lol.
Tricky :)

I bought mine because of the swamp I live in and around to be fair I really like the P38 it is better than a Jag in many ways, one of the reasons I sold the XJ12 after 4 months, it just got boring :D
It would appear to be a common theme, my brother, my son and myself are all Jag / Daimler and Land Rover fans. Dragging our impoverished dependants along with us. Is there a Land Rover secret program underway? Spooky or are they just very spellbinding motors.

It's the fun of ownership I think, I know a land cruiser of Audi A4 would be a far more sensible option lol but to be fair you can't beat the excitement of LR ownership many times I've been close to getting rid of the P38 for something like an XJR or a 3.6 XJ40 but I can't do it... :D

I know i'd miss it!!

To be fair i'm more of an LR fan than old Jag fan, having driven a few jags while they're quick and comfy the excitement seems to be missing from them for me atleast. o_O:D

I agree, my whole family have bought into the Range Rover. This being my second after I rolled the last one is considered one of the safest places to be driven in our opinion. Add that to the smiles every time we go anywhere in it there is a serious risk that the only other drive would be a Bentley but last time I was looking I lost my nerve and went RR. There’s always a conversation to have about a RR good or bad so that has to have a positive effect on family.

People have questioned my loyalty to the P38 in the past year i've spent myself clean on it, nowt savings left! ;)
A good mate of mine owns a 1987 Rolls Royce and to be fair his has cost him far less than my P38 to run lol :)

Deep down I fancy a classic Rolls or Bentley too but I couldn't live with one I don't think, the P38 does handle better than most old Royces! ;)

One day I might need you to work out exactly what v12 beastie I have out the back. It'll need an ECU of some sort to run I am sure.

My reality is that I don’t need a Range Rover or an other car as Mrs Tricky has one that starts every time you turn the key but I enjoy driving cleaning and tinkering. Perhaps I should grow up and stop playing with toys but if I do that I’d probably end up sat in front of the TV all winter and too unfit to do anything in the spring. Toys it is then!
Tricky :D
