I usually leave in manually set to low profile mode, just selected access height, flash flash flash flash stayed at low profile :( then 'froze' wouldn't change to normal or access!! No error codes and eventually unfroze and went to normal then down to access no problem
 
Carpet out! Now the drying off and cleaning of things begins. Might even tart up a few interior bits while it's all apart too.

Oh, why so many wires and cables you ask? DVD player and old Nokia hands free kit. That'll be coming out.

I would check the connector blocks at the base of the A posts while you have it stripped down if they haven't been cut out.;)

Yep. Had checked them before removing the carpet and they looked okay however, with the carpet removed there's a lot more space and leeway with the cables so can have a better look.

Wouldn't you know.. Can now see there *is* corrosion.

Lots of ways to police out connectors, what are people doing here when removing them? Just twist, solder and hestshrink or?
 
Found water getting into the pollen filters again!! Not sure where, there's a pool of water under the cover yet the cover isn't leaking as it was dusty dry, neither was the screw above the cover, rusty but very dry
 
Don't like the sound of that

If you have used the Air con recently, have a look at the aircon drains..

They're the concertina affair tubes that run down the side of the tranny tunnel, they can close up and cause moisture from the aircon system to spill into the car...

While you're at it crawl underneath and run a bit of tube up the drains to clear them out, they're two rubber bungs up beside the gearbox..

You'll need a torch to find 'em ;)

Didn't have a condenser rad when i bought it, finally got round to buying one but it doesn't fit and need to take it back :(

I just cut the connectors out,soldered the wires and heat shrinked the join.I think @brianp38dse used an in line connector which solders and heat shrinks in one.
