Honest, I refused so they towed it away. Weeks later I had a bill for storage, told them they like it that much they can keep it. Nothing ever came of it but I did go live in the wilds for quite some time after

My father had one but it rusted through. So did his Escort iirc. After that he stuck to Morris Travellers.

They're silly money. Built at a time when Vauxhalls rusted when the humidity went above 10%.
I bought a bright yellow Escort for the engine, drove it home ...
Opened the door to get out and open the garage and the car door fell off

Which got wood worm and rusted.
Not as bad as some Bentley / Bugatti ash frame chassis' ... most were too well cared for but one or two were abandoned ...
