Where i used to go for car mot, same place i used to get tyres.
Needed both at the same time so asked for both, he said he'd to the mot first fail it and then replace the tyres
Why? What's the point?
I wonder if their employer gives them a commission on work driven by MOT failure ie incentivises fails? And if that IS the case they're probably best avoided next time around

berknees, post: 4894775, member: 153478"]Have read that post and done all the checks. Definite it is coolant as when I put a piece of kitchen towel to it and press comes up pink. Doesn't feel like plain water on the fingers too
petrol/diesel?[/QUOTE]
No not petrol/diesel cant smell either. That thought had crossed my mind

: o) or if you have an ebay aversion they sell the Airtex pump on Island for £50+VAT+ Delivery
Thanks again! They don't mention the brand on island, unless I'm blind. I do have a bit of an aversion to buying some things on eBay when it's a brand I'm not familiar with

Good until the batteries fail when just ut of warranty.

Yes, that's what put me off, especially as it won't be used a lot. I doubt I will use a windy gun much either other than maybe knocking something loose. Drying stuff, tyres, maybe a bit of paint now and then and odd stuff like pushing brake calipers out are more likely.

My very good m8 has just given up doing MOT's shame he just used to say do this or that and always pass it, I will miss that, so took the wifes car in, and the MOT shop tried to sting me for £10 adjusting one headlight, took me 15 secs with a screwdriver, and £15 to fit wiper blades.. X2 so £30, drove home had a set in the shed changed them went back for a pass, dam these bots like to charge you for sure!! Saved £40

@MrGorsky uses some place in / near Twickenham that seem decent. Cannot be far from you?

Not far, but there ARE OTHER GOOD ONES i KNOW OF the guy that runs the MOT centre is on holiday these are temp guys

I used to have a 24L Stanley bout £100 for work. Took an absolute battering big enough for most jobs, small enough throw in back of the Fender. Would bounce about in the back with a genny never had issue with it. Maybe there is a slightly smaller version?

Ordered a 24L Clarke one. Says it shifts 7 cft a minute which is 28L so I figure it can fill the tank in under 10 seconds.

Anyone know what the roughness values mean on nanocom?
Is there a normal? Should they always be zero? I assume there's no such thing as perfection

Think I owe you an apology @tomcat59alan have taken carpet up today, bone dry to centre consul but wet through along channel with wiring in. Looks like its coming down from pollen filter area and following channel. Did find where someone in past had sealed round pollen filter in one area , have cleaned this up and resealed with LSX (top stuff). What is weird it is wet near seat under BCM where plugs go in and does show pink when touching it and slimy to the touch. Any ideas?
