took the air dryer to bits today, it looks in good order to me, looks like it should be functioning normally, same with the compressor filter :)
Drier can only leak when compressor is running. Air from compressor goes in one direction exhaust air in opposite direction to blow moisture to atmosphere.

It was just a tiny 'pff' when i pulled the air line out of the top. Unless you say otherwise, i don't think it's anything to worry about. There was no air coming from the pipe once I'd removed it from the dryer

As said the drier can only leak whilst the compressor is running reducing flow to tank. It is not pressurised otherwise.
 
Anyone got any recommendations on an air compressor? I was thinking maybe one of the little 24L ones, like a Clarke or Airmaster. Thoughts?
 
Dropped in past my mot boy had a look on the ramp for any play in the back end..... none anywhere so just cracked on and did the inner and outer track rods.
Did left side the offending side first and then drove it and adjusted till it was steering straight again. Then did the same on the right side.
Feels miles better
Saturday will have to get alignment done
Il have to do the rear toe arms and camber bolts on Friday.
shes a busy busy work week next week. Then hopefully this Corona stuff is lifted so I can go Windsor and see my dad possibly buying yet another bm off my pal from school so may have to take trailer with me yet.
 
just about to order a new water pump for the v8, but..
apart from an extra £180, whats the difference between OEM and genuine water pumps? is one REALLY that much better?

Make sure it has the metal impeller, I got mine from Island but according to posts on here they are experiencing delivery problems. And they add postage below a certain order value.
 
Found a damp patch on carpet in front of drivers seat next to door:eek:. Looks like coolant, but rest of carpet bone dry under pedals and elsewhere. Just this one spot. Ha well looks like another job for my handy neighbour this weekend:D

cheers I'd heard about the plastic impeller issue, i would imagine hope both OEM and genuine are both metal, but no way of telling until it arrives on your doorstep. will go for the sensible priced one and hope for the best o_O

Coolant is usually on the transmission tunnel, check pollen filter housing screws and lid are sealed. There was something about the windscreen trim screws needing sealing a fouple of days ago.worth checking/ clearing A/C and sunroof drains as well before tge dreaded heater o rings but that's usually the opposite side from the dooras I said.Good luck,stay safe.

Have read that post and done all the checks. Definite it is coolant as when I put a piece of kitchen towel to it and press comes up pink. Doesn't feel like plain water on the fingers too

My very good m8 has just given up doing MOT's shame he just used to say do this or that and always pass it, I will miss that, so took the wifes car in, and the MOT shop tried to sting me for £10 adjusting one headlight, took me 15 secs with a screwdriver, and £15 to fit wiper blades.. X2 so £30, drove home had a set in the shed changed them went back for a pass, dam these bots like to charge you for sure!! Saved £40

Where i used to go for car mot, same place i used to get tyres.
Needed both at the same time so asked for both, he said he'd to the mot first fail it and then replace the tyres
Why? What's the point?
