Yep i know they rot mine is trying to ;)

They are good, when looked after ;)
Mine got to stage where new young MOT tester didn't like it I did my own welding hence doing him out of business. Previous guy was spot on. I think change of management at garage didn't help either. Never used them since. Funny thing I know a lot of their mechanics whom are all elsewhere now

Ha yep a new guy started at the local.

Odd tbh,

Luckily I'll be going elsewhere as he failed my sisters Cooper S on headlight alignment and then managed to break the light trying to adjust it!!

****.

Been using a local guy now for past 4yrs who only MOT's, doesn't do any sort of repairs so not after work. I find him honest and fair. Show him a car that is looked after and he is full of help and advice

Took it to my mother's. Jumped in to come home and ... Nothing. Starter motor fuse had gone. Got just about every type of fuse except that big bugger. Same with the late night garage. So, parked up and nicked mumsy's car. Looks like i will be waiting on the doorstep of Halfrauds in the morning.

At least 30!

Wonder what?! That's what is niggling. It was fine going out. Didn't even flicker when I tried to start it to come back. Not a click or anything.

Took relay out and gave it a sniff. Looks and smells like new.

Just removed the cover plate on the bottom of the bell housing.

It had a nice gunge hat on which was nice.

Hopefully the rear core plugs aren't leaking, bearing in mind i've never had this plate off in the 2yrs I've had it..

Hmm

Don't fancy dropping the box.

Put new fuse in started up straight away. However, next start blew a fuse again. 2 starts since then were fine. Run out of fuses and too scared to take it out until i find out what is up. New thread required ...

You sure it’s not that alternator wiring...all clean, I’ve burned out a starter but not any fuse.

Feels like the system needs bleeding again, peddle is a tad spongy

Seeing as it is such a carry on to bleed, suggest changing all the fluid. I did mine a couple of months ago. Absolutely by the book is the only way, and that needs two - and lots of fluid.

Think you’ve jinxed me - seem to have oil leaking from the oil cap after long journey don’t know why it would seep out there??

Blocked breather? Try clearing out the oil trap that comes out the cam cover at the front under the air duct.
