So I have wrong type battery for standard 13.8v alternator set point?
Looks like I payed over the odds  but I'm still happy, many were £160!

@martyuk ?
Rf receiver is blue dot but completely disconnected. This was killing the battery when I bought the vehicle. I just don't use the fob, which is easy as there are no buttons left on it :D Sure the battery has plenty of go in it, will try earths and check wiring on starter. Thanks guys :)
1) Probably.
2) Yes, @martyuk . He's made a filter about a 1/4 price of a new receiver. Even unplugged you can still get issues - I did and burnt through 3 or 4 lock motors before I forked out for the latest receiver. If BECM is waking up it will flatten the battery.

If your alternator setpoint is 13.8V then it'll never charge a calcium battery properly and over time it will fail. You can upgrade the setpoint to 14.5V by changing the gubbins in the top.

Failing that check the RF receiver. If blue or yellow dot then talk to Marty.
My alternator has a regulator set point of 14.7 volts but is currently showing 13.8, either the alternator is sick or there is a bad connection.

I payed £114.99 for a 120Ah superbatt 31-1000cca type 663/664 last year, best thing I ever bought for it so you have done well

Now and again the first turnover of the day it struggles like the battery is dead, ignition off try again fires first time  Any ideas what this could be? I'm hoping it's just the starter beggining to die
Battery is not fully charged or is dying like mine.
Alternator set point needs to be at least 14.3 volts, preferably 14.7 volts for your battery.

Just pulled this out of my Gearbox :D:eek:

Looks like the couple of pints of Guiness I've just had watching the Welsh beat the Scots in the rugby.:D:D

So today I fired it up and it was struggling to turn over slowly, needle bounced all over rev counter. Ign off tried again fired first time easy:confused:
Coming home the starter just clicked but nothing. Checked connections to starter and earth, all seems fine. Bumped it and drove home - now nothing and no hill :rolleyes:
Battery runs everything nearly new green light. There is a click by my right foot when I try to engage starter, but I think starter is shot. Fuses are fine no burning smell in fuse box. She's dead for the moment which is not good for a daily driver/only vehicle, but damned it's fun!:)...on times

Spent six hours handwinching a dead p38 up the drive and into the garage using a hand winch and blocks.
Absolutely knackered.. but in.!

Drove round Oulton Park on the grass up and down the hills giving low ratio a work out whilst watching the car track day people red flag their sessions every so often. I like to use the low range once a month or so. The first few gear changes are always jolt jolt jolt at first and then they smooth off after a while. The shift BANG! always makes me jump though :D

Check battery and charge it off the vehicle.

Thinking of the rev counter and wondering if alternator is leaking. Or could be earth issue.

There's an electrical troubleshooting guide on RR.net that I think might on here too somewhere. Try working through that.
