Blew the top radiator hose on the diesel in Aldi carpark. Three bottles of spring water and a role of masking tape to get me home.

Disconnected battery negative cleaned connections all shiny,

took off two cables on drivers side chassis leg (above coil/bag) cleaned up thoroughly and sprayed with 2licks of paint as the bolt is a nightmare don't wanna go there again,

also cleaned one underneath on engine block.

Took cables off starter - the 13mm threaded bit moves? - Cleaned up put back on

Still nothing. Not a click or sound.:(

Hevac lights come on and dim out when you engage starter as they should so think barrel is okay

If lights are dimming, it sounds like starter is jammed. Still taking current but not turning.
I get the feeling it is starter failure. There is current going to it, lit up my new spanner to check as I got frustrated :rolleyes: Hope I not blown anything else.

Had to park down street so neighbours blocked me in to prove a point so No chance of bumping :D
Will try giving vehicle a rock in gear see if it unjams but was only turning really slowly before it stopped. can try give it a whelt with a hammer or try bridging the connections?

If it's seized, it's seized.
One of two things are the most common.
1. Bearing/Bush at one end has collapsed so as soon as you energize the armature, it just clamps itself to the stator magnets
2. One or both end bearings has collapsed and locked up.
Either way, chances of a hammer fixing it are slim.
The hammer fix can work for sticking/worn brushes.

Stripping out the interior.
